Nice, and it looks round like an Amfleet car. With red white and blue stripes it would in fact make a great Amfleet car, which we could use in the US set. Would you like to adjust the livery and lt us include it? Proper credit will be given of course.

Pop on over the the US set thread. And take a look at the link in my sig, it has a complete list with photos of all the trains in the set, including the Amfleet cars, and reference links.

Looks good to me, although, can you get a picture in the game? I'm not sure about the roof. The Amfleet car doesn't have a black roof, it's silver/aluminum all the way 'round.

Hmm. That doesn't look as good as the side view you had.
Here we run into problems because the sprites are so small. There isn't really enough room in a diagonal sprite for all three stripes, which are not very wide on the real thing. I would say, eliminate the center white stripe (on the diagonal view), and the blue stripe should be darker if possible. The rest of the side of the traincar should be lighter silver in color. The roof seems about the right color. It's really hard to get these things right but you're on the right track. What does it look like in the game going horizontal? Maybe next time you can take a picture of the train rounding a corner, so we can see the car from several angles.

Very very close. Make them one pixel shorter (take that row of white pixels off the top), and make them one pixel longer at each end. And, what do they look like on an angle?

Even closer. I think this is the last round:
1. The roofline is spot-on.
2. In the vertical view, the cars need to be longer so you can't see their doors. This is a very common problem on TTD passenger trains and there's no reason for it. In real life you can see maybe the top pixel's-worth of the door, no more. So make them taller so they cover up the door of the car behind.
3. In the horizontal view, they still aren't quite long enough. Make them two pixels longer. There should be very little space between them, one pixel, two at the most.
4. In the diagonal view, you can clearly see the rearmost door of each car, but not the front one. I think this is because you are using two lines to outline the rear door, which doesn't leave space for the front door. How about using only one line to define each? It's much too small to actually draw the door, you have to just hint at it. And the line of the door should be curved to underscore the fact that the whole car is tubular.
Almost there, great! These cars are enormously common so it's important to get them right.

Yes you can make the longer. The problem is (I bet) that you are doing a direct sprite replacement for the old passenger cars, and those sprites are set to a certain size. If you try to use a larger size of sprite, the extra gets chopped off. But, you can use the sprite info to TELL the game to make the sprite larger, and then it works. That's how, for instance, the ICE doesn't have gaps between the cars.
Why don't we move this discussion into the thread for the US trainset, where it really belongs. I know the length problem can be fixed, I'm just not sure exactly how, but people there will be able to help.

Re: New Temperate carriage (Done)
Thanks, that's similar even to Hungarian express passenger train carriages!Born Acorn wrote:following the 'dash closely, I made a new passenger carriage that fits in with most temperate trains except the manely morel
