Use cht:graphics to bring the old graphics back.

It looks like you are using the European Roadset in combination with the DBset. Is it all for windows or DOS? The colour purple reminds me of failed experiments with DOS graphics in TTD for Windows. Try what Rob adviced first and if that doesn't help make sure you use the proper versions of the *.grf files.

Looks like you also have the wrong version of the DB set, i.e. the DOS version on Windows or vice versa. Get the right version...

About the road/rail crossings: it doesn't fit yet. I hope to release an improved version this week (really? I better hurry...). To solve this temporarily edit your newgrf.cfg by putting a 2 behind newgrf/DBset.grf:

Code: Select all

newgrf/DBset.grf 2
About the bridges: you seem to have used Andrex' traffic set before. Make sure to have either euroadst.grf or Andrex' trafficset in newgrf.cfg. If that is already the case you can use the reset graphics cheat posted before. That should help.[/code]

Your graphics are mixed up because you have Andrex exe version and Hyronymus grf file active. The changed sprites in the grf overwrite the trg1(r).grf, but Hyronymus only changed the back parts of the bridges. Use the undo trafficset.exe to solve the problem. Reset graphic cheat will not do anything.

Uhmm, my traffic set comes in the convenient *.grf type nowadays. I thought Andrex didn't supply an UNDO-exe?!

Doesn´t he? I have no idea, but using the backup trg1.grf file helps too.

Anyway, this is the only bad thing on grf files, it causes more problems. Many people will have mixed graphics when they use grf and exe together...

That's why I have converted all exe's I use into grf files.

In which case it's the exes, not the grfs, that are the problem. Those are generated from diffs rather than being completely separate files.

I always supply a readme-file but you would need a program that only unlocks the zip after people spent 10 minutes with the readme-file before they really use it. But I'll bare this in mind for the next readme-file.

Nah - you rig it so that it won't work without something you only find in the readme, e.g. a compulsory parameter :)

Seriously, with the advances we've seen, we need to be moving away from the EXEs and towards nothing but grfs.

Odd, somehow I have a undo for the trafficset. :?

You can do whatever you want with your graphics, but as long I make something it will be usually an exe file. It makes a nice and clean newgrf.cfg, and I really don´t see the need for a grf file for a simple building change.

I couldn't agree more.
The only thing to add is that we graphics makers should always add an undo.exe with the new graphics.exe.
