What's the point of adding metro coaches and mail vans when I'm expecting more types and variants of metro freight wagons. At least the machinery wagons look nice for transporting farm/engineering supplies.

Would you consider reviewing your sense of entitlement?

I'm experimenting with your sets, they're great, thank you.
But these numbers are confusing, what do they mean?
Also what do the icons mean prior loco model? (hovered with mouse)

And 3rd question, what's the purpose of objects? are they only for aesthetics?

Answer 1: The '4-6-0' describes the wheel arrangement of the loco, using the Whyte notation scheme. In this case, the loco you're looking at has 4 wheels (2 axles) on a leading pony truck, 6 driving wheels, and no trailing wheels under the firebox.GoldMine wrote: 02 Aug 2026 21:30 I'm experimenting with your sets, they're great, thank you.

Answer 2: The little box under the mouse cursor are the colour swatches, indicating what the primary & secondary colours of the vehicle are, and appears to also show a 'highlight' colour which is being used for the text colouring on the side of the loco variants.
Answer 3: I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly sure that that is entirely the purpose of objects.

Thanks, I get it.skc wrote: 03 Aug 2026 01:39 Answer 1: The '4-6-0' describes the wheel arrangement of the loco, using the Whyte notation scheme. In this case, the loco you're looking at has 4 wheels (2 axles) on a leading pony truck, 6 driving wheels, and no trailing wheels under the firebox.

Narrow gauge Panoramic mail vans, or alternatively Stratos but for mail. Basically so I can run a mixed train that uses the Stratos set.
Also, speed variation for narrow gauge locomotives, especially steam locomotives! "Cheese Bug", "Bean Feast", and "Nile" shouldn't have as high a top speed as "Thor", "Alfama", and "Tyrconnel", and for that matter "Pikel" and "Boar Cat" should probably be slower than "Gargouille", "Solano", "Hinterland", and "Rockhampton"!
Whilst we are on the topic of Rockhampton, that should probably be counted as a single-ended locomotive, since driving that sort of diesel long-hood forwards isn't ideal, especially considering its length.

I decided the best way to do something is to do it myself.Peter_Kitsune wrote: 06 Aug 2026 16:37Peter_Kitsune wrote: 30 Mar 2026 20:40 Suggestions for IronHorse:

Now, I don't know how to build IronHorse, so I haven't tested these changes, and also I wasn't sure how to go about adding the Panoramic Mail Vans or the Stratos Mail Trailer. However, I have done the speed adjustments (using categories in the same way as standard gauge, plus overrides for the gronks (pikel and boar cat). My logic is that regular NG should be noticably slower than regular SG, whilst express NG is comparable to regular SG (and does not compete with express SG at all). The speeds for the NG trains are all probably too high for realism, but it does need to work as a game too.
Git comparison link: https://github.com/andythenorth/iron-ho ... s?expand=1
Summary of changes:
- Regular NG speed reduced across the board (gen 1 thru 4: 25, 35, 45, 60 (was 45, 45, 60, 75)
- Express NG speed increased from gen 2 onwards (gen 1 thru 4: 45, 60, 75, 87 (was 45, 45, 60, 75)
- Rockhampton no longer randomly flips since you shoudn't drive such a long loco long-hood forwards
- The following have been reclassified as express engines
- Thor
- Tyrconnell
- Gargouille
- Rockhampton
- Higuma
- The following have been reclassified as gronk engines and had speed changed to 35
- Pikel
- Boar Cat
