The Swedish city of Kiruna is quite literally moving.
The Kiruna mine has been in operation since the 1800s, and has now grown so large that it threatens to actually swallow the town of Kiruna itself. Therefore, the mine owners LKAB are in the process of moving the entire city Eastbound. This has been going on for 20 years, and today the biggest piece of the puzzle is being carried. They are moving the entire church, in one piece, over a period of two days!

Re: Moving an entire town? That's transport!
Personally, I thought moving one house in its entirety at a time was a lot. It seems absolutely insane to carry a town. Like, imagine if you woke up and saw your town moving, complete with the buildings. I would be confused unless somebody tells me in advance that the whole town is moving due to the mine having a risk of eating the town.

Not a full town on the move - but at least a 4.000 ton bridge on its several hundred meter long way from the construction site (front left) to the final placement on the central "Verbindungsbahn" in Hamburg between Dammtor and Altona stations (center back) - the old bridge from early 1900 was not fit for several hundred S-Bahn and ICE trains per day anymore:
