[W.I.P.] The Valuables Mod "Final Version"
Hello everyone,
After multiple years have passed by, I'm back to finish this mod. A few months ago I stumbled upon OpenLoco, and since then I started to play Locomotion again. Some guys have asked if I would like to help with OpenLoco, but coding is way beyond me...There are much brighter people who can do that. However I talked with these guys about finishing my older mods, like the Food Mod, the Valuables Mod, the City Mod and perhaps the NAM Mod. All the topics for my mods can be found in my signature.
Now that the Food Mod is finished and released again in it's own new topic, I decided to make a new forum for the Valuables Mod as well. I know there is an older topic for this mod, but the version there is completely unreliable, so I decided to make a completely new topic for this one as well. This time I finish it and when it's done I release the final version for this mod.
What's the Valuables Mod ?
The valuables mod is a mod that brings all types of valuables to your Locomotion game. It has gold, silver, diamonds, jewelry and money in it. It also comes with new vehicles, new city-buildings, new industries and new stations. It also brings a new transportline to the game with new industries and citybuildings. The Gold, Silver and Diamond-mines all produce raw stuff (raw gold, raw silver and raw diamonds). The raw gold and raw silver goes to a mill where gold and silver bars will be produced out of it. Then the gold and silver bars (and the raw diamonds) will be transported to a Jewelry-Factory where Jewelry gets produced out of it.
The goldbars, silverbars and jewelry can be delivered in the city by banks and jewelry-shops. The mod also brings money to the game and a saving and loans shop. The Bank, jewelry-shops and saving and loans all accept money and this can be transported between the buildings intown and to other towns with armored trains and trucks.
Here we can see the three mines. The gold-mine, silver-mine and diamond-mine and the mill were raw gold and raw silver is made into bars. Phosphor from the OpenLoco Discord page has already made a new graphic version for the Diamond-Mine, more about that in the next post...Perhaps he also makes new graphic versions of the other two mines. The mine is based on Zimmlock's version of the coal-mine and Tattoo made the graphics for all the new material (diamonds, gold and silver). For all these things I have permission as well to use them. Next are a few of the most important city-buildings. The building in the center is the federal bank...It accepts gold and silver bars and paper to produce money. The others are normal city-banks, jewellers and a saving and loans shop. All of these buildings are important for the production. Banks accept money, jewellers accept jewelry and saving and loan shops accept both, as well as gold and silver. These buildings are build by the city, but in OpenLoco they can be build during the game in sandbox-mode. Finally this mod comes with new types of stations, vehicles and cargo's. Most of the vehicles are made by Zimmlock and Tattoo and for both I have got permission back then to use their work for this mod. When the mod is released I provide a Readme.file with all of the credits and names for anybody who has contributed to this mod. For now this latest version is still in it's testing phase...I have taken down the old version because it isn't reliable anymore, but the old topic for it can be found here.
Some parts of this mod can be used together with the new version of the Food Mod and even some industries and buildings are shared between the two mods. When this is re-released I make a scenario for this one (and perhaps one wich uses parts from both mods), but for now I focus on this one.
Not sure about a release date yet, tomorrow I have to go to the hospital for surgery and I don't know how long it takes before I can use my right hand again. I try to do what I can...

Thanks for those kind words...The mod is still in it's testing phase and I hope to release it very soon.
In the meantime Zimmlock, Phosphor and I have worked on new versions for all of the mines in this mod. We also made new station-buildings (wich are in fact city-buildings) for the mod and new city buildings wich can be used as an industry (to spare the real Industry and have more room for other original industry)

I want to add how please i am that it looks like you will have road vehicles to carry the loads. I really like the long logistics chain of the automobile mod . the only down side was the lack of road, ship or aircraft to carry any part of the chain.

The automobile mod was released by Plasticman and CWL and can still be downloaded here: https://www.locomotiondepot.net/amitrains/chicago Standard vehicles for that mod are made by me and can be found in my signature under my posts...
Is this what you are looking for ?
The Valuables mod will be released when it's done...Not sure when it will be released...When it's done it can be played with regular Locomotion and with OpenLoco.

I have been going t Owen's Locomotion Depot for many years and have almost every thing there. I play the automobile mod often. As i said i like the long set of steps in the supply chain. Want to state again how nice i think the industry graphics you have for your up coming Valuables mod look. Right now am endeavoring to find more of the wonder models the folks here have created . The add so much to the fun of Locomotion.

Well...the graphics are made by good old Zimmlock, and the diamond, gold and silver graphics in the trains and industries are made by Tattoo when I first released it. The new graphics for the mines are way better then back then, and Zimmlock proposed to make even more new industries. As long as I'm recovering from my surgery, the mod is not yet released...I hope that it can be released in about a month or so...
