[OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Connecting Ingolsmünster proved yet another challenge for the hard working railroad crews. Nestled in the mountain pass that was the easiest route between Bad Kassel and Albhausen an der Elbe it would prove to be a popular spot for city dwellers to rest and recover during weekends and holidays. The station also saw a lot of activity servicing the overworked steam engines. All this meant that in a short space of time Ingolsmünster had grown and prospered beyond its wildest dreams.
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Albhausen an der Elbe once destined for greatness meanwhile had fallen into decline. Now it had become a place where people passed through but none stayed for long. Something needed to be done, and hopes were high that some much needed attention paid to the industrial area would prove valuable in the end.
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Stralswalds location and well developed connections to Kiel made it ideal for the first true blue water harbour. Fully able to construct and maintain a fleet of fishing vessels and small freighters its harbour was build to withstand the fierce storms of the North Sea.

A birdseye view 24 years into the game. Most of the network is present sans a few stations at the outskirts.

Thanks mate, it's good to be back
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Far east of Kiel lies Innsberg. Its size doesn't really justify a mail and passenger service pulled by DB-BR 39's, however for some reason commuters are willing to pay good money the journey, so who are we to argue.
Back in Ingolsmünster the old castle has be renovated and open to the public. With a castle to the north and a cathedral to the south the city is quickly becoming the cutural center of the entire region.

Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
To reduce the demands on Kiel Hauptbahnhof a new and larger station was constructed in the southern part of the city. Hopefully this will keep the citizens happy and open up for a southern expansion. The inaugural tour however was taken on the direct line for Stralswalds to the west, which had grown to be the second largest city after Kiel.
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Mistakes were made, heads will roll.
A crew working on a bypass at Langenfeld accidentally blew up the station building. Subsequent attempts by management to bribe the local authorities failed miserably. Time to plant some trees.

Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Nice usage of Central European buildings.
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Yeah, they fit perfectly and are beautiful done. I have TTRS on top of Central European Buildings and a few building from TTRS are beginning to show. I hope TTRS will provide some more variation and a more modern fell later on, without being too dominant. Time will tell
Meanwhile, after the Langenfeld disaster a nearby clay pit requested our services. Due to the difficulties with the Langenfeld authorities the station had to be established in another municipality.

A nice tranquil place along the route.
Before finally arriving at the bulk terminal for unloading of clay and refitting to bring back engineering supplies.

Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Another clay pit joins in the trade. So far three trains transport clay to the coast and bring engineering supplies back, and still the clay piles up.
In other news local fishermen "thinking outside the box" as one was heard saying, decides to rotate a new fishing harbour 90 degrees, thereby blocking the river estuary. Local authorities suspect a batch of usually strong moonshine as the real cause behind the snafu.

Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Electrification has come to the world! As an experiment our top grossing line from Kiel to Stralswald has been electrified, and a brand new DB E 04 undertakes the inaugural trip, with 312 exited passengers hoping to reach the promised 130 km/h.
Shortly into the journey old meets new. The steam engine is no slouch at 120 km/h but obviously much more expensive to run.

The passengers breaths a sigh of relief when they beat the slow moving freight train to the junction. No need to slow down this time, but surely mangement must do something to prevent such close races?
Finally pulling into Stralswald which is still prospering. No so for Korheim who have take the brunt of building activities without seeing any benefits.

Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Probably the busiest section of track on the entire network, the area south of Langenfeld had recently become a massive hit among trainspotters.
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
A steady stream of trucks carrying milk from a couple of farms to the local dairy could hardly make a dent in the sea of milk waiting at the platforms. To prevent a financial disaster a new line was constructed to Kiel which should be better able to handle the load.
Arriving in Kiel the fresh milk is quickly unloaded and processed. Shareholders and residents rejoice.

Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
Another busy day doing milk runs. If only we had somewhere to sell all the dairy produce...
Re: [OTTD] MrMox's Screenshots
In the end it was decided that all the dairy produce would be shipped by boat to Stralswald to satisfy the demands of the ever growing city.
Of course that meant the Nord-Ostsee-Kanal would have to be constructed first.
First batch of fresh food. Local citizens are relieved to finally be able to supplement their ordinary diet consisting of fish.
