At moment the 2x2 buildings I have them set to build TOWNZONE_EDGE, TOWNZONE_OUTSKIRT, TOWNZONE_OUTER_SUBURB. Maybe I could remove the TOWNZONE_OUTER_SUBURB

EDIT:
Forgot to mention before electricity people had coal delivered to their homes for cooking and heating and I believe this lasted till about the 1950s. So maybe I could add something to accept coal?

The casino could be two stories. In Las Vegas, there are even entire skyscrapers.
Coal and sometimes firewood, maybe fuel storage?

I think a two story be better idea so can find it easier .. maybe even a 2x2 size. "fridaemon" got some nice buildings that could full fill that position :D Shall see what I can steal from him.
I found that the person who delivered coal and coke to house operated from a Coal Merchant building. Just a small buildings .. some had some coal stored on site and some had the merchants truck or wagon parked beside his building. So far I added accepting of COAL and COKE. Maybe I could add WOOD. Any thing else you can think of? :D

Auz Town Commercial Set

Made a Coal Merchant that be available from 1700 to 1950 and accepts Coal, Coke and might add Wood. It supplies homes and business with fuel for cooking and heating until electricity became the main source for those.

The other buildings in this image deciding to use one of those can represent all of these. Tourist Center, Hotel and Casino. In can go in towns of 1500 and larger.
Do I use the 2x2 size or the 1x1 size?

Yeah here in North America you often find Walmarts and Costcos at the edge of the city to be able to accommodate their large buildings and parking lots, you don't really see them downtown

PS. The malls can be isolated and we can surround them with pieces from your parking set

You got me thinking .. the Auz Town Commercial Set 2x2 are the largest that allowed to be made. seeing what you done now wondering if I can design the 2x2 buildings in such a way that can add to them using objects to make them larger like in the image you uploaded. :D

Looking at a few ideas for Tourist building (I removed the statue and re-inserted the Tourist building idea).

The main idea of this building building near center of town is so that no matter what "landscape style" your playing they will allow towns to accept FOOD, GOOD and WATR (Food, Goods and Water).

These building can also accept TOUR (Tourists) and Argus mention Casino. So maybe these building could represent Hotel, Casino and Tourist all rolled into 1. That way they can also accept VALU (Valuables) and GOLD.

Been looking at "fridaemon" objects and I am hoping to use some of his buildings to go in Center of the towns to represent the Hotel, Casino and Tourist.
Do I use 1x1's.

Auz Town Commercial Set


Added a Livery Stable & Black Smith.
years_available: 1700 to 1950.
accepted_cargos: Glass, Wood, Steel, Metal, Manufacturing Supplies and Building Material.
Builds in towns of a population of >= 400

Found a answer to the Tourist buildings. Buildings 1x1 in size build only in towns population less then 1500 and the buildings 2x2 build in towns greater or equal to 1500.

Lunch time here now so I go eat and relax for the afternoon. Might watch a movie with my eyes closed.

Auz Town Commercial Set

Some changes I like to make if there is no objections.

1. Tourists/Hotel .. the 1x1 size available in towns less then 1500 and the 2x2 in towns larger than 1500.
2. Garage and Repairs 1x1 size code it so only available in towns smaller than 1200.
3. Smash Repairs 2x2 size code it so it only available in towns larger than 1200.
4. Grocery 1x1 only in towns less than 1400
5. Shopping Mall 2x2 only in towns larger than 1400
6. Hardware Store 1x1 towns less than 1500
7. Hardware Store 2x2 towns larger than 1500
8. Remove the Car Sales Yard. The Garage & Repairs and the Smash Repairs accepts the same as the Car Sales Yard except for Vehicles. But I think if your using a Industry Set that supplies Vehicles they will also have a Industry that accepts them. Those who like the Car Sales Yards "fridaemon" has several in his object sets.

The idea of these changes to reduce the clatter in some towns.

Here the game file if like to test for me and see what you think.
If your happy with this let me know and I will than add the Parameters so you can turn off any building you don't want.

If you see something that could be changed or added please let me know.

Well, that would be great! If buildings could receive food, goods, water or tourists and gold!!!
I like all buildings. But I use more 2 × 2 ;-)

I think those are good ideas. Small industry in small villages. It is understandable.
I'll try it, but I have no objections yet ;-)

Main reason for the small buildings is I don't know of any large buildings that a small town would have. Especially before the 1940s. :D

I been thinking to add some of these old style building for those who like to start a game before 1900.

Auz Town Commercial Set V10

Seems like everyone likes what I done with the last upload of this set and no complaints.
So here the full version of it.

* It randomly places these buildings in towns at start of game.
* The idea of this set so towns will accept more variety of cargoes.
* You can go to Parameters to turn off any of the buildings you don't want to use.
* You should be able to use this set with any Industry set.

Auz Farm Industries V3

Started fiddling with my Industry set again and planning on doing the following with it.
* Farms produce Farm Animals and take to the Livestock Sales Yards. Here they produce Livestock that goes to Abattoirs (Slaughter House), Bulk Terminals (and maybe purchased by other farmers for breeding stock).
* Farms that produce Grain. The grain goes to Grain Silos/storage. From here it produces a variety of different grains such as wheat, maize, Canola, (and maybe seed for farmers next crop). Those different grains can then go to Brewery, Flour Mill, Bulk Terminal (for export), Food Processing Plant, and Cereal Factory.
* Adding Monuments to build in towns and cities. These will accept FOOD, GOOD and Water, When you load a "temperate landscape", or a "Sub-arctic landscape" or a "sub-tropical landscape". Depends which one you choose the town only accepts on of those cargoes. So by adding these monuments the towns will accept all 3. The monuments will produce Waste and Spoils. (Waste is garbage and Spoils is from buildings that be demolished to make way for new buildings. The Waste and Spoils goes to the Garbage Dump. The spoils are then crashed and produces "Clinker" that then goes to the Cement Plant).
* Gravel Quarry produces both Gravel (Stone) and Clinker (crashed stone).
* Abattoirs accepts the Livestock and produces MEAT, TATO (processed foods), and TEXT (skins and hides).
* Dairy Farms produce MILK and send it to the Dairy Factory where it produces CHSE (Dairy Products) (might change it to TATO and call it processed foods) and FOOD.
* Brewery Accepts HOPS, and most grains to produce BEER. (Thinking of adding a Soft Drink Factory to this so can accept Fruit and Sugar and produce COLA (soft drinks).
* Banks .. add Banks to accept GOLD (business bank their income (which is the GOLD) and banks produces Valuables (CASH) .. the cash goes to factories to pay the workers.

That is a list of some things I plan t do.

EDIT:
I have Waste as a cargo which towns produce. I just having a brain wave. Almost all Industries would also produce Waste as well. So I will make that a cargo some Industries can also produce and take it to this Garbage Dump.

Found some pubs that I had forgot to code into my object sets and wonder if I should add these to the
Auz Town Commercial Set
The small one that is already coded in game maybe it can load in small towns and these in larger town.

Nice to have places that accept food in cities. Never understood why higher density residential pieces don't accept food, leading my food trucks to densifying cities to lose money as the game never tells me the station no longer accepts it.

Also the pubs in your next post look good, they can be added!

These are the monuments I added to my Industry set I making .. probably could also add them to the "Auz Town Commercial Set" for those using other industry sets.
They small and can hide in the middle of a town and accept those cargos.

I added to more items to this set.

The Pub .. it will build in towns greater than 1200.
and
These Monuments which will build in towns greater than 100. The Monuments will accept Food, Goods, Water, Tourists, Gold and Valuables.

It looks great and I think it will work well. It could be used to build a square or the village common. And there are various chapels in the village in the small town. So I say: Great! And thanks Gaz ;-)
