I'm making a game that is basically 3d OpenTTD. I'd name it here but I don't want to get a spam warning.
This will be my 20'th published game. I'm no rookie at game dev. My game is going to support 28 languages if I can do it. Coming up with a huge list of town names in 28 languages would be a lot of work. OpenTTD is a open source project. Am I allowed to take names from OpenTTD to put into my own game?
Thanks for all the advice. I'm hard at work. 200+ town names in 28 languages would really take a lot out of me.
Might be looking for some beta testers around years end so maybe I'll post here about that too.
Can I use Town names in my own game?
Re: Can I use Town names in my own game?
As it is open source, you can use it, but the product will also have to use the same GPLV2 license as OpenTTD, along with proper credit, and your source must also be available under GPLV2.

Thanks for the information. I'll post in the off topic section in a bit.
