Re: JGR's Patch Pack
So zbase as a whole isn't working properly, and neither is abase? Does anyone still work at zbase? As for the abase, I know it's not even finished.
In fact, it appears to be smaller than the 40 pixels it should be. I have glasses and the larger icons in zbase - and even aBase - suit me better. For me, it would be best if I could choose the size of each item separately... But that's not possible yet.
I tried it, 3x the icons would be fine with me, but then everything else is absurdly large and the controls would definitely be inconvenient.
With my eyesight, I simply need a bigger toolbar, I have it in zBase, and until this is solved in some way, I will use zbase.
In aBase, the icons are just right and not as absurdly large as in zbase. But it is said that it is not complete.

Re: JGR's Patch Pack
This feature is not in vanilla, so you should not report it there.Nathkel wrote: ↑16 May 2023 07:54 Not sure if this is a patch pack bug, or an OTTD bug, but since I use JGRPP exclusively, I figured I'd better report it here first. I am using version jgrpp-0.52.1.
I noticed a problem with the history graph for a station that reports waiting cargo. I included a screenshot to show that the current waiting cargo does not match on the graph what's in the station window. (I increased the contrast of the graph so you could see the gridlines better.)
I tried the different views such as Amount Waiting and Station Planned, and let it run, but none of this corrected the problem.
I'm thinking it's a problem with the conversion of amounts, so I included the screenshot of the current settings from this game.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong but it seems like the last (rightmost) dot on the graph should show the same number as the one in the cargo list of the station.
Should i report this as an OTTD bug?
This looks to be because you are using imperial/short tons instead of normal metric tons as your weight unit.
The cargo history graph does not convert into display units for each cargo type. This is somewhat impractical as you can display multiple cargos on the graph at once, with different display units, which can have significantly different ranges.

Hi JGR!
Back again diturbing you with your fantastic work with this patch.
I had wrongly placed some signals and i have some trains stuck without realizing of this. Today, I loaded the game and i got a warning message saying that train #992 has an invalid lenght, that's when I found out it was stuck due to my error when placing the signals. I correct them and train #992 got unstuck and managed to arrive to his depot.
The problem I have is that I can't remove the bridge where the train was stopped. The path remains reserved. The most significant issue is that despite the train seems to be entirely on the depot and fully stopped, I can't remove it as the message says that the train should be entirely on the depot. It's look likes the lenght of that train has become way too long.
FYI: I recently modify the maximun train lenght on the settings from 7 to 8. May be that train was already stuck there and make some error?
So it could be a bug on the bridge or the signals on the brige or the newGRF or ...
Attached are two images with the bridge demolition issue and the deletion on depot issue (There's a rail missing that i removed to attemp sort the problem).
Also the saved game as it was this today with the train stuck.
It may be not your patch pack issue but vanilla or Timberwolf GRF to unterstand and inform them of the problem.
Thanks again and again and again for your patch pack.
Regards,
Alberto

The very last part of the train (an "invisible" wagon part) seems to have remained behind, stuck on the bridge ramp.alc wrote: ↑17 May 2023 08:51 Hi JGR!

I am not sure how the train parts became disconnected.
If you tell the train waiting at the other end of the bridge to ignore signals it will crash into the "leftover" wagon part.
This is a somewhat ham-fisted way to make the problem go away for now.
I will do some more investigation into this. The problem seems to be reproducible with that exact track layout so best fix the signals before you send any further trains through.
Edit: This is fixed now, it will be in the next release.

I'm not surprised it went down. I haven't allowed myself to change the industry set in a played game for a long time. Even if it hadn't fallen, there would have been some pretty ugly pictures instead of factories

Hi JGR,
I love your patch pack! I was wondering if you were going to include support for >255 station objects per grf in your next release like what has been added in the nightlies for vanilla recently? Only asking as I am making a Station GRF that makes use of the extended limit and I don't want to be stuck with vanilla lol

Re: JGR's Patch Pack
Hello JGR,
Firstly, thank you for your efforts in making this patch pack (and for providing a mac version). I thoroughly enjoy using it.
I would like to propose 2 [optional] features that I sometimes find myself looking for:
1. To display the total number of towns in the town directory
2. For the main viewport or minimap to emphasize city names by either A. Showing in a different color (though this may conflict with town rating color?) or B. Adding a (City) label below the town name
I think the Citymania and BTPro clients include these features but I have not tried those. For feature 2 they seem to use method A.
I often use this information to get an overview and start planning my large & relatively complex passenger networks.
Also, some clients have a feature to show the white tile outline/preview (like when building roads/stations for example) of an industry before founding it. I think that feature could be useful for those that are unaware that the cursor places from the top corner of the industry.
Lastly, a question regarding the 'reserve through' routefinding restriction; is using it functionally any different from just omitting/removing the signal(s) it would be applied to?

Re: JGR's Patch Pack
Hello JGR,
I experience some issues with the version 0.53.3 (win64)
I looks like it's related with programable signals as I always experienced crashes when building tracks and especially signals, and I found in the emergency save the order of many signals are stuck.
In the emergency save, if you look at the signal at 1973x242 you'll see this : But I have set the "add penalty" inside the "if" condition before the game crashed.
Some signals I set in other places for a long time are also stuck :

This should be doable, in the meantime you can use the "dumpmapstats" console command to get this number.networktycoon wrote: ↑29 May 2023 13:48 1. To display the total number of towns in the town directory

For the most part it is the same as omitting it. There is more of a difference if you're using realistic braking.networktycoon wrote: ↑29 May 2023 13:48 Lastly, a question regarding the 'reserve through' routefinding restriction; is using it functionally any different from just omitting/removing the signal(s) it would be applied to?

Re: JGR's Patch Pack
The news message which is causing the crash is an autorenew failed on [vehicle] message.
Most likely due to the money limit.
I'd suggest turning autorenew off for now.

Re: JGR's Patch Pack
Strange, I can't confirm this error.
Maybe it's not a money limit, but a different problem.
I tried to upload the given game and it crashed, maybe the problem is rather something else, because the automatic exchanges work fine for me.
Maybe this log will help better?
After thinking about it, I am also attaching a picture from which it can be seen that the game was not sending any message at the moment.
