Train Sizes

Post by TTdelicious »

Hi there, I have been playing OpenTTD since TTDLX times. However, I notice that the trains in the GRF are getting smaller and smaller. Is there still a good set with large trains or the size of the past? By good I mean a set in which the wagons also fit the trains or adapt automatically. For example, in the original OTTD the passenger cars do not adapt to the train (which I personally find very annoying).

The smaller scale of UKRS2 isn't a recent thing, that GRF first came out like 15 years ago. It was a deliberate decision done in order to model the UK's smaller loading gauge compared to other countries, which was then copied by a few other British trainsets, most notably RUKTS.

There are plenty of newer trainsets with a chunkier scale, Iron Horse is definitely worth checking out. :)
