hg.openttdcoop.org repository

Post by Paracelsus »

Hello,

I have a question:

Is it possible to download the source codes that were in the hg.openttdcoop.org repository?
If this repository no longer exists, are there any backups?

Does anyone know if sites https://dev.openttdcoop.org/ and https://hg.openttdcoop.org/ are permanently unavailable, or temporarily?

For the most part, they are dead and buried, according to other threads on here.

Hello
andythenorth wrote: 28 Feb 2023 07:24I believe the server they are on still exists physically, but I don't know this for a fact.

The sites are very unlikely to come back however.
It would be nice to have at least reading access to the repositories (if the licence permits it).

Copies of these websites can be seen in the Internet Archive (https://web.archive.org/web/20210318200 ... dcoop.org/), but unfortunately there are no copies of the source codes from the repository there.

Is there anyone on this forum who administers https://www.openttdcoop.org/ ?

No, they've been absent for a few years now. Most of the active projects have moved over to Github, the rest abandoned by their creators as they've retired or left the community.

It's a shame, because there were a few projects that didn't even make it to bananas. Fortunately, you can find a lot on the forum. The main problem here is, of course, old games and scenarios, you don't always remember where you got which newgrf...

I have a copy of most of the GRF files running in OpenTTD.
Unfortunately, I do not have the source codes for these files, and I would like to use some of the graphics in my own projects (where the license allows).
So I will have to contact the authors.
