What year is the last oilwell dry and shut down in locomotion?

In the original game without modification, the oil wells are no longer available as of 2018.

So that means, if I want to make cars, my final year is 2018?

In the original xml it says 2018 as the year of end. I dont know if the oil wells will close automatically then. Theoretically yes.
However, you can easily change this by changing the value.
