Change difficulty settings during the game

Is it somehow possible to change difficulty settings during the game?

I've started the game with No. of industries on high, but now I want to set on none, but this is not possible during the game.

Any advice how to proceed?

Number of industries cannot be changed once you start a game, as they are generated at the start of the game.

Also, what version of OpenTTD are you using? This looks like it's a quite old version, you might be missing out on some of the newest features.

I can use magic bulldozer to get rid of them, the question is if I can change the settings somehow that they will not appear ever again?

This is not entirely true. You can change the number of enterprises that appear during the game for a long time.

This setting doesn't work well and in practice, despite the number of settings, it only allows you to enable or disable the appearance of new enterprises (there is no visible difference between Minimal and High). But in general it is possible to limit their quantity.
