Here's my 2.0 version of Target. I'm looking at using this in my fork of FIRS as a replacement for the general store.

I did a new animation for the fireworks and added a couple new colors. The plan is to create this as an object, then let you configure the properties to select the date you want the fireworks to go off.

Right now I think its a little too light. I'm thinking it might need some thicker lines, but I'm not sure yet. Any thoughts?

I'm playing with rounded shapes without resorting to going into a 3D rendering program. Here's a test of a tanker spacecraft.

I was expecting some hard shadow on the grey box, to be honest (like sun-light shining through a window partly lighting a table).

Also, the light area of a sphere is almost at the same spot as the part of the previous sphere that is hidden behind it. This makes it look like the sphere is semi-transparent, Not sure if that is intentional.

If you move the lighting angle around (from 2 o'clock to 5 o'clock), the spheres will look better ;)

Good call on both points! I'm going to redo the gray box into something a bit more interesting, and easier to set up as modular for other spacecraft. On the spheres, yeah, I wasn't sure where to put the direct light. I'll give the 5 o'clock a go, and try some shadowing.

I haven't added shadows yet, but does the angle of the light look correct?

Also, this isn't a complete ship - just the tanks and the engine pods. Once I have the angle correct, I'm going to try some different color schemes for the tanks to make them cargo dependent.

Looks great! (not sure about positioning, but why not code it as a vehicle, and see?)

I've been testing it out - looks pretty good, I think. I'm trying out a few things, but here's the latest taken in-game.

It really reminds me of something you could build in Kerbal Space Program. :D

Oh, very nice! Is that a mod, or did they add new stuff to the base parts since the last time I played?

Those are nearly all modded parts, I admit. The base game is lacking in spherical parts, sadly.

These sprites look incredible! I'll definitely try doing a Martian game at some point. It would be so cool to see those ships you showed off at first added to a small GRF too, the sail one especially, I would love to see them in game.

Hi I'm wondering if any of these graphics here can be downloaded as newgrfs or not?

Nope, they're just images, pieces of thought. No code. All of Oftcrash's NewGRFs are linked in his signature.
