Subject: Car Racing

I've added wide race tracks to the AuzQT65CarRacing set .. a sample in the image. Today I made some Depots for vehicles and put the control tower on tops.
Be a few days or a bit more before the latest version of AuzQT65CarRacing and AuzSportObjects be ready for upload.

I only been making The Pits facing views as they look nicer. Not sure if a rear view would be needed plus I don't think it would look good.

Subject: Pit lanes for car racing


Making what I hope are improvements to the pit lanes.

Changes:
* Narrowing the red and white line markings 2 just 2 pixels wide.
* Making curves pit lanes.
* Changing the entrance and exits from pit lanes to race track. Instead of 3 tiles now have just 1.
* Adding pit lanes so can enter and exit on corners as shown in these images.
* Adding advertising boards to the pit lanes on the side of the race track.

Was hoping to have these ready for the weekend, but taking longer then I thought .. I think be a few days yet before anything ready for uploading.

Planning to change the Pit lane roads to match the object ones with the narrow red and white markings. Any objections please tell me.

These are actual roads .. vehicles can travel on them.

Add wide roads and another set of put lanes with narrow white and red lines.

Unfortunately I not figured out how to add starting grids and finishing lines. With the pit lanes close to the race track there no room for overlap objects.

Having a go at making pit lanes for Nascar Tracks.

Basing my idea on the Bristol Motor Speedway as others look a bit too difficult .. for now.

Appreciate your thoughts on this design?

Seems like every one likes those Nascar Pit Lanes so I made some and they look like this.

If your happy with these let me know and will upload the game file.

What do we need to fill in the center areas? Maybe I could steal some of "fridaemon" trucks and maybe some car parking for the drivers and pit crews.

Also working on a pedestrian bridge to cross over the wider tracks and some more Pits.

The Pits I already did wonder if I should add some more of the black beams to make the pit area look busier.

Also had a go at portable style pits that probably be found in Nascar Tracks and maybe at Drag races.

Quick ask here, since ur working on sports objects any chance we can get some more grandstands and seating styles?

This is sort of what I have been messing with for stadiums, the stairs double as standing positions.

If we could get some more rear styled seating/grandstands that would be awesome!

Looking good! Do these roads also you to drive vehicles on them? The striping here reminds me of the American highways as well

Strange you mentioned it .. your must have been reading my mind. Last night I had a go at some grand stands and this results so far. These are based on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway images I seen on internet. Want to design something behind these so it be a 1x2 tiles. Could be enclosed buildings and/or more seats.

The AuzQT65CarRacing are actual roads and can be used to drive on. The roads in the AuzSportObjects are object roads and can not be driven on.

Still fiddling with stadiums and grand stands. Been looking at those at car racing and football so hope plan
something to suit all.

The low section be seating of various colours. (If you know a colour you like added let me know).

The uppers section be similar to that in image with various seat colours, restaurants, and probably some under cover seating.

I don't think we want empty seating like in image. Hope to have all with people some crowded and some not so crowded.

Not sure if get chance work on these again till Monday.

Before I do more to the new grand stands and stadiums I thought might be better finish off a few other things first.

Change Log:
* Added wire mesh fences to some of the spectators.
* Adding Drag Race Tracks. (Find them in Car Racing section for now. Probably give them their own menu area later)

Future Plans:
* Add drag cars to the drag racing track .. just have to see if I can draw them unless you like to try for me. :D
* Add new grand stands and stadiums.

It looks like the racetrack gradually changes into "normal" tarmac with a sandpit at the end.
Also some off ramps to a secondary road, probably to bring the cars back to the start.

Those links I see if can do a second track to match so players can have 2 choices. And some of those exit roads.
I'll pinch some more of your beach sand to make the sand pits with that way kids would love playing there.

The ones shown previously and these so have a choice of 2 tracks.
Make the first few tiles darker to represent the cars burning rubber and further down the track normal tarmac with sand pit at the end.
I will make some off ramps to go with them and see what can me done about secondary roads.

I made a track roughly to the design from the image you had the link too.

There now 2 drag race tracks to choose from.

There 4 station position options .. 1 with no cars and the other 3 have cars in the starting area.
There are 6 choices for the drag strip .. some dark road surface to look like where the cars still burning rubber, normal road surface, some with exit areas and a the sand pit at the end. I can if like add some white smoke to the rear of the cars to look like they are burning rubber.

Hope to make some secondary roads next .. I think just one lane roads will do and I try design them so can be used with all race tracks. After I make those hope to finish the new stadiums.

UPDATE:

Disregard the game file previous post .. I did not think I would get chance to do the secondary roads .. but managed to do some.

Hope some of you will try and let me know of any combination of these secondary roads that could be added.
The straight sections random roads with and without drag cars on them.

Subject: Stadiums


Still fighting with the stadiums as always seem to be a few pixels out of alignment between the front and back sections.
Also the exits from the stadiums wonder if they should be narrower or further apart.

The enclosed buildings intend to make the seating and tables behind the glass different colours.
I'll have a break from them for a while and try again later in week.
