Multiplayer Connection Timeouts

I got into playing this game with a friend of mine and we already done a few sessions of multiplayer play without any issues.

Now, out of the blue, we are having trouble staying connected to servers hosted by either of us.

What happens is that one of us will start the server then the other would connect. The person who connects will be in the game for around half a minute or so before getting an error saying that no data was received from the server and dropping.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to debug this?

Whats the data rate and the latency of your connection?
Try playing on a smaller map and see if the dropouts stop,
