Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 upright vacuum

The Most Budget-Friendly Vacuum Cleaner Debunked? Shark NV360

You heard us! This is the long-waited tell-all review of the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360.

Released earlier this year, the blue Shark vacuum made quite an entrance into the home vacuum market, praised by many as the best bang for the buck of 2020.

If you are looking for some honest Shark Navigator NV360 reviews and love a good exposé, you have come to the right place!

Our team of experts went through thousands of Shark Navigator Lift Away Deluxe reviews on all e-commerce sites, so you don’t have to.

They also conducted several in-house tests with this model to double-check all the claims (re-search value, duh) before reaching a verdict on NV360.

But wait till you scroll down the bottom!

In this article, we lay out five things we love AND hate about the latest model from the Shark’s bagless vacuum line up, from its build to its performance.

You will also learn:

- what accessories come with the NV360

- why you don’t need a long hose and cord to increase mobility

- how to turn this upright vacuum into a handheld device

- what HEPA filter is and why you need it

- and MUCH MORE!

Excited? Let’s dive right in!

Five Things We Love About The NV360

1. Back-to-Basic Package

If you are looking for a simple, no-nonsense vacuum cleaner, Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 is the go-to choice.

This vacuum comes with precisely what you need: a powerful upright-built motor, 3 filters already installed, 1 rolling brush head, 2 cleaning tools, and a tool clip.

The simple package allows for a compact design with decent versatility and mobility boosted by the Lift-Away function.

For $160, and even less if you use our promo link, NV360 is a nice package with a reasonable price tag.

2. Simple And Solid Build

Construction-wise, NV360 is the most compact and lightweight from the Shark Navigator Lift-away Deluxe Nv360 Upright Vacuum Cleaner series thanks to the hard plastics casing and aluminum wand.

We did not break a sweat fitting the 13-lb (6-kg) vacuum inside a stuffed closet or moving it up and down flights of stairs.

What’s smart about the design is the onboard storage solution for the crevice tool and dust brush. The pressure-fitted tool clip holds two tools at once alongside the wand, so you do not waste a second looking for them.

3. The Lift-Away Function

You will appreciate the high portability even more with the Lift-Away Function.

You can detach the pod - the motor-canister compartment - from the floor cleaning head and use NV360 like a handheld device.

The simple idea from Shark changes the definition of versatility in housekeeping. A full 2-in-1, highly capable machine gets things done quickly.

4. The Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology

Keep the house clean, and the air safe is the goal of this feature. The NV360 comes with 3 filters: 2 felt-material pre-motor and 1 HEPA filter post-motor.

HEPA, or high efficiency particulate absorbing, is the standard of air filtering. The NV360 places the HEPA filter at the end of the airflow to catch all fine harmful particles that escaped the first two standard filters.

This sandwich filter design completely seals off all allergens and particles from the air of your house.

5. Quick Carpet-To-Floor Cleaning Adaptability

You can quickly move from vacuuming your low-pile carpet to your hardwood floor by switching off the brush roll and increasing suction power.

It is easy: the On-Off switch doubles as a BrushRoll switch. This 3-way switch allows you to turn off brush rolling on delicate flooring materials or when you do not want the debris to scatter.

You can adjust suction power by dialing right at the wand’s collar. Leak off some suction when working on carpet and seal when on bare floor to clean more efficiently without damaging your floor.

Five Things We Hate About The NV360

1. Unbalanced Stand

We noticed right off the bat that the NV360 tips over so easily. After assembly, we gave it a push and the vacuum cleaner tumbled over.

We have seen this imbalance on previous Navigator Lift-Away models, so clearly the Deluxe is not an upgrade on this front.

If you have a playful pet, this vacuum cleaner won’t ‘stand’ a chance against frequent bumping and scratching. Pun intended!

It gets worse with a loaded dust canister. So you need to empty it frequently to avoid constant forward facing collapse, which can damage the pod casing in the long run.

2. Short Hose And Power Cord

The hose can extend only to the length of the wand or to your arm span in Lift-Away mode. So if you don’t purchase any extension, your reach will be limited.

And because of the short hose, the wand always gets in the way.

The same goes for the power cord. While the Lift-Away function boosts the vacuum’s portability, the cord limits your range of movement to 25 feet (7.6 meters) around the power plug.

3. Non-powered Lift-Away

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 comes with a non-powered Lift-Away, as opposed to a powered version.

This means that cleaning tools are not powered for higher and more efficient suction delivery, limiting the range of application to light duty tasks and the range of compatible cleaning tools to non-powered

NV360 only comes with 2 non-powered cleaning tools, so we really missed out on the ‘WOW’ factor of a powered Lift-Away.

4. Underwhelming performance on thick-pile carpet

We tested the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 against other Shark vacuums of the same line up on different flooring types.

While performing the best on low pile carpet compared to others, NV360 didn’t live up to our expectations working with thicker pile carpet. We had to go over the debris twice with NV360 to clean up smaller objects and fine fragments.

Performance on the hardwood floor in our tests was inconsistent. Although that doesn’t speak to the overall performance, we thought it makes sense, given the low price.

5. Old-fashioned swivel steering head and tools

We will be frank here: we have seen better accessories, from function to design.

We like the smooth steering on the cleaning head, but it lacks robustness when u-turning. A decent left and right movement is a far cry from a sharp turn we expect from ‘Swivel Steering.’

The tools are pressure fitted on the wand, meaning it would loosen its grip in time.

We are unsure why Shark went with this old-fashioned attaching mechanism for NV360 because they have clip-on, screw-on, and quick-connect tools for other models.

OpenTTD has multiplayer built into it. Click on Multiplayer from the main menu. Here you can either join a server, or start a server. If you select start server, your client will act as a server for others to connect to, you will still be able to play normally even though your computer is acting as the server. You can save and load your game in the server too, so you don't need to start a new game each time. If you're both local (same network), you may get away without port forwarding, if you don't live together, you will need to port forward ports 3979 on both UDP & TCP.

You can also run a dedicated server, which is headless (no screen) version if you have an external server, however if you're just looking to play with family, you probably do not need to go this far.
