There is another option...
Now that we can have a lot of different railtypes in a game, you can make a couple of railtypes that only have a difference in tunnel entrances.
Full tile tunnels would do the trick in this case. And you can have different designs on top (grass, concrete, other eyecandy like houses/flowerbeds/etc).

I am (very slowly though, so patience ;-) ) working on a railtype set that has a couple of fulltile tunnels. Also with rails that have fulltile concrete/grass rather than catenary wires, that will fix this issue:

Didn't realise how long ago I worked on these stations. May 2019.

I even forgot to shorten some names in this set.

Changelog: 19th Nov 2020:

* Shortened the names of stations so they fit better for those who only have a small monitor.
* Added non-track multi-story car parks.

I wondering if I might have made to many pieces for the Multi-Story Car Park I did. (the are 31 pieces including the stairs and ground pathways).

I designed the walls from a photo I took from a train window and I don't remember what line I was on in Sydney to find a google earth view of it.

The car parking lots are designed from a ground level shopping center car park.

I been searching on Google Earth for aerial views of multi story car parks and what I found so far they don't have the pedestrian walk way or pedestrian pathways so wonder if I should remove some of them.

I'll work on the platform ones and leave those piece out and see how it looks.

EDIT: I think I need to go back to the drawing board with the car park design. I forgot the station and platforms will be a level lower then non-track one when used for subway stations :roll: At least I got some thinking to do.

Glad you like, but all those need adjustment. They should only be 4 high with another set 6 high.

I working on the platforms now and get those right, then rebuild the others to match and join properly.

I've done 2 sets of platform car parks.

This one being designed for subway (underground railways). But as can be seen the non-track car parks are to tall.

This one designed for normal platforms and instead of 8 pixels above the rail for the first level for cars I did 16 pixels. This to help allow for overhead wires to go under the car parks instead of sticking on the sides and through the roof. But the non-track ones are to short.

So I have some rebuilding to do on the non-track car parks. Also wondering if I might change the design, or do I make 2 different types.

This one is based on a car park in Newcastle, Australia.

Taking me longer then I thought it would take. I will not be doing animated car parks as way to much work involved for me to do for now. Maybe later I will get motivated to do that.

These are excellent, I've been hoping for something better than those somewhat-glitchy overlay versions :D

Hope get these finished soon. Keep delaying as the non-track car parks I have the wrong heights I saved the templates to the wrong extension. I use Corel and meant to save them as .cpt so each piece remains a separate piece so they easy to move around and adjust. But saved them as a .png. So have to do them all over again. :evil:

I heightened some multi-story car parks so they can be used better with the platform ones.

Need to add some lifts and stairs and the platform ones, think look better if I change the platforms to concrete so they should match other platform sets better.

I will not put any cars at the entrances as some countries drive on the wrong side of the road.

Forgot to add this image to the last post.

It shows some stairs and lifts.

Image on left shows a narrow lift. You will find 2 of them one for each end of the tile so can be placed close to vehicle entrances. Also a set of stairs. Not shown in image is a set of those stairs and a lift on the one tile.

Image to the right shows a larger lift that also has a stair well. Doors at bottom are 2 sided. People can exit and enter the lift from car park or from street side. Those strange colours I took from lifts at railway stations around Newcastle and Sydney in Australia.

Plan to make some overlap ones so can hide a bus station inside the car park. Maybe later today or tomorrow will make those.

After I do the bus stops, will start on another set just 4 levels high.

Here a new image of a idea I have.

Placing bus terminals under the car parks. If I make them station non-tracks could end up with a really nice passenger terminal and join bus and trains and maybe airports. (maybe make some object ones as well)

(woops pressed Submit instead of Preview)

Make the overlap for buses high enough to accept double decker buses. Hard part is decideing how many section will I need. Buses enter from one end and be able to pass through to the other, or I make a U-Shape sections something like this.

Been wondering about a suggestion I was given several days ago about these car parks.

The station-non-tracks if I make these as objects instead. This will allow a greater variety especially with the idea of shop fronts under the car parks.

Will still make the platform multi-story car parks. The main reason I did the non-tracks is to give a great range of the Coverage area. But all we need for a greater coverage area is the odd building or monument as a non-track. all you have to do is hold down the ctrl key as you place the non-track any where you like as far from stations, bus stops or even a airport you like and it will give you the option to link it to one of them.

So whatcha think :idea: .. Do I continue with the multi-story car parks as nontracks .. or .. do I make them objects ?( :?:

Make them as non-tracks for now, then think about doing objects at a later date?
I have Asperger's, please be easy on me about stuff. My apologies if I've been a problem for you in the past.

As you have a penchant for exhausting all of the object space in a set, you may want to consider continuing to use the non-track tiles. :)

I did think I get any time this morning to do more to the car parks. But manage to find an hour or so.

I can now upload what I done to date so you can play around with and let me know what you think and any suggestions.

There are 5 sections:
CarPark 6L non-track (Multi-Story with 6 levels)
CarPark 4L non-track (Multi-Story with 4 levels)
CarPark SL non-track (Multi-Story with Split levels)
CarPark Platforms (Multi-Story with 6 levels)
CarPark SubwayPlatforms (Multi-Story with 4 levels) can be used normally, but mainly designed for a subway set. Use with CarPark 4L non-track.

I still working on shop fronts and bus stops for the car parks. Not as easy as I thought for the bus stops due to the car parks on top.

Looking at aerial views of many car parks and they very similar to this one. Just 4 lanes of parking in width (in game that is 2 tiles). Counting car park spaces on top range between between 5 to 8 tiles long.

I noticed with what I made so far, we can not make a 2 tile wide car park that includes the ramps .. so see if I can make some changes so we can make what ever size car park we want and cars can go from one level to the next.

But first I get some shop fronts done. JohnFisher and fridaemon have sent me copies of their shops to use.
