I just registered. I played Transport Tycoon in 90s and I discovered this game OpenTTD that is quite similar to Transport Tycoon. However, it's been a while I don't play Transport Tycoon. Are there any tutorials or guides to play OpenTTD?

Thanks!
Welcome back, there is a manual for OpenTTD on its wiki: https://wiki.openttd.org/OpenTTD.

I've played OpenTTD on a PC from 2005 without issues, so you should have no problems on a modern average laptop.

A modern CPU will do you well, but you're right, pathfinding is a CPU intensive process. You won't notice anything until you have quite a considerable amount of units active, and even then you probably won't notice the slow down in norrmal place, just the 'fast forward' button is less fast than before.

My computer is an 11 year old first-gen i7 and I've never had any problems even with thousands of vehicles doodling around.
