Hi all, a bit slow getting my screenshot in as keep finding some errors in some of the object sets I released on BaNaNas.
Fredinho wrote: 23 Apr 2020 19:55 About the swamp shores, it looks like water is running behind the actual shore lines. Is this intentional?
He discoverd in AuzWaterObjects I didn't allow the flood waters in the swamps to subside properly and the water is as he mentioned behind the shore line.

I started doing more this morning to my screenshot and discovered can't have a low level bridge over the creeks as I forgot in coding to change the height: from 1 to 0;

So both AuzWaterObjects and AuzCreekAndDrainObjects need to be repaired.
Fredinho wrote: 23 Apr 2020 14:15 On that note, it would be really nice to have a temperate (slope aware) grass tile in the AuzLandscape: Natural Landscape as well.
I hope to do a natural Landscape with all the different tiles available.

Made a change to the creeks.

You now have 4 choices for the creek as you lay it so they not all the same look.

Creek on left is the 1st .. has same design. the one on right has 4 diffeeent types.
Change to Creeks.png
Change to Creeks.png (61.46 KiB) Viewed 4049 times
Also made some Creek Crossings. Still have the bridges that match the pathways in the golf course plus a few others as shown in image.

Before I update these on BaNaNas I'll wait a week or two make sure I got them right this time.

I've noticed that some of your recent additions like the new crop fields, rice fields, fruit trees and gum trees, are not slope-aware, like the other farm- and landscape tiles are. Do you plan to implement this in the future?

EDIT: Applies to the willow trees as well.

(wonderful work otherwise, as usual)

The the wheat and fruit trees hope to make these slope aware. The gum trees I forgot to test these on slopes and they don't look good. Shall see what I can do about that wee problem. Rice Fields I think not need be slope aware. When build on slopes they intended to be stepped up the hills like this.

Looks very nice place to be. Apples that grow where they get cold weather with snow and/or frost seems to be nice and juicy compared to those grown other areas.

The fruit trees I did I think will suit both apples and most citrus fruits.

Not sure if I can draw them, but been collecting a few photos of banana and Coconut Trees. In ogfx-landscape there are images of trees that will pass as coconut trees, but the banana ones might have to do some trimming of other trees to get the shape I need.

Shall see what I can come up with. Could be Friday possibly Saturday before I get chance to do anything about them. Cheers

I was asked today by my son watching me drawing some objects .. why make object lakes when game already has lakes. Why not just make objects to go on those lakes.

We have the normal lakes and coastal areas.

So maybe he right, so I made a few objects to go on the coastal tiles.

On the whole, your son is right. I think that it is not always necessary to create separate parts of lakes, including the location of various objects on their banks.
If the objects can still be added separately, then creating a lake based on individual elements takes a decent amount of time...

In general, I like to use your different sets both when creating new maps in the scenario editor and during the game itself  .

For me, this feature adds more interest to the game. For example, you can roughly build localities from real life. Yes, and you in each of your screenshots show some area that may exist. Example, I liked the current screenshot in the voting very much :D .

Thanks for feed back. The lakes and swamps I did, probable look better around the normal coastal shore as these already have the sunken look. If I re-did the swaps and lake shores I did so they can be used around the coastal shores I feel they will look a lot better.

Looks like I have some experimenting to do.

If any one want to try those few Coastal objects to get an idea and maybe can throw in a few ideas here the file.

EDIT: Forgot to mention .. those 6 coastal objects will load in the Purchase Menu under "AuzWater: Coastal Shores"

I like the second option very much :D .
I noticed that bridge pillars disappear when creating water objects. And also when driving over a bridge that has the water tiles of objects under it, cars partially disappear at times. To avoid this, I removed all the water tiles of objects under the bridge. The supports of the bridges was restored, the car stopped going, periodically disappearing.

That very interesting .. have to see what I can do about that. That why I like uploading things as I make them here as no matter how well I test, always some one will try something I not think of and find a problem :D

Question to those who understand coding better tan me .. could that problem lay in the

Code: Select all

zextent
I just noticed with some I forgot to change this in same and til have it set as the default "zextent: 16;"

Thanks STD for finding this. Will take me a day or three to change that code.

Thanks heaps .. think they look better then the other fake lakes we make.
STD wrote: 03 May 2020 13:50 I noticed that bridge pillars disappear when creating water objects.

I am always happy to help you with testing if possible :D . I always use your sets in the game now. They are the basis for my construction.

Regards STD.

Still experimenting with using the lake and swamp tiles I made to go with the normal coastal tiles that build at start of a game.

This the normal shore line at start of a game.

I made several coastal shore slope aware sets so you can add these to the coast and then add the fake lake and swamp tiles.

I made some transition shore lines so can change from narrow shore line to wide shore line, and also some swamp transition tiles.

I seem to have fixed that problem that STD found. As mentioned the code "zextent" I forgot to change the object heights in a lot of the objects. Not just n AuzWaterObjects, but also in AuzCreekAndDrainObjects, AuzFarmObjects and in AuzLandscapeObjects. So all these been repairs and I will upload the fixed version here very soon.

Since those sets needed repairs I also transferred the objects from AuzObjectAddOns into their respective sets. For now you DO NOT need AuzObjectAddOns to be loaded in a game.

Here is AuzWaterObjects:

* Fixed water tile heights
* Added new coastal shore lines so that the water and lake objects I made can be used in the natural waters that load when you start a game.
* Changed so that swamp tiles have their own menu called "AusSwamp: Swamp Water"
* The Mangrove and Willow Trees are still in this set, but will be found in the menu "AuzLandscape: Forests"
