Re: The Thread Of Randomness
The number of “viewed” hits last year is up on 2018, some 55 million versus 51 million. “Not viewed” (bots, spiders etc) is 58 million versus 71 million(!) in 2018.
2013 was 91 million viewed and 12 million not viewed apparently. 107 million/13 million in 2009, 114 million/27 million in 2007.
So numbers are down on 5 years ago sadly, but are still considerable. Maybe lots of lurkers?

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Probably lurkers. I only reply to topics I'm already engaged in for the most part, but I check at least once a day to see if anyone posted in the Nations Game (not today) as well as Locomotion.
I'm also guilty of a little profile stalking, mostly to see if people who have been around for a while still visit. It seems pretty split between those who quit 2-5 years ago and those who post once a month but may have visited as recently as the same day.
God I'm bored.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I suspect traffic may increase over the next couple of months.
Maybe Michael Blunck might even finish v0.9 DBSet?
I jest - keep well folks.

I still lurk and play OpenTTD, but I don't have much to contribute these days.
Except ducks.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Well, if you contribute with more ducks you'll make my day a bit better. That's something.
My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)
Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Emotional support duck is here for you in this trying time.
God this image is massive.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
How bored are you?
Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Swedish is one of those languages where compound words can be used to make a really long word.
I am currently building a knowledge database for our customer service agents at work (guidelines, instructions, etc.), and I have just given it the amazing title of Kundtjänstmedarbetarkunskapsdatabasen. Yeah, that means "The Customer Service Employee Knowledge Database". It's merely 37 characters, so I'll be thinking about how to make the name even longer. For now, it will have to do.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
In german that's possible as well. It gives us some awesome combinations.

My favorite is Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung. I refuse to say Tempolimit.
Ever see spam accounts linking the same website? Sort members by most recent and 3 of them have the same link. Not posting here for obvious reasons. Also the others all seem to be about gambling recently.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I just came across a word while studying: "Bahnübergangssicherungsanlage" (short BÜSA). That's exactly why I love the German language.
Or what about "Gleisbogenabhängige Wagenkastenquerspielsteuerung"
There's a lot of spam recently. I thought about volunteering as Moderator, but I don't know if it's really needed and I'm not sure, if I'm that far in this community, that people would trust me I'm most of the time online anyway. I got the forum always open on my computer.

As well, I'm sure the team has enough coverage in the EU time zones. They'd likely need another Raichase, whomst I believe was from down under.

If you're a fan of Eurovision and gameshows. BBC has you covered. One of their newest episodes of 'Pointless' sees Eurovision stars (and some flops) appear and try to win for charity.
It includes a member of Bucks Fizz who won for the UK, Måns Zelmerlöw who won for Sweden, John Lundvik who didn't win for Sweden and SuRie who didn't win for the UK, as well as 4 more!
You can view it here on BBC iPlayer https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m ... eurovision

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I do love Pointless. I do love Eurovision. I do not think the BBC iPlayer lets me watch it. I'll have to find a less reputable source.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
There are tricks and tips to make you appear in the UK, although due to the roolz i won't go into detail.
Safe to say, its a good episode. It was nice to see John & Mans on UK TV, they're both real characters and seem happy to just lay back and have fun. Hope to see more of them both.
Re: The Thread Of Randomness
January: Australia literally burned down
February: Probably the calmest month this year, but we still had COVID-19 and the acquittal of Trump
March: COVID-19, stock market collapse
April: COVID-19, massive unemployment
May: COVID-19, Trump lays the foundations for the Second American Civil War by encouraging attacks on people of color and on journalists, when any sane President would do their utmost to calm the situation down
June: I'm not looking forward to it...
On a brighter note, SpaceX successfully launched two astronauts from US soil, marking the first time a private company launched people into space as well as the first manned launch from US soil since 2011. So there's that.

Micheal Angelis, one of the long time narrators for thomas the tank engine also passed away yesterday. He was only 68. The voice of my childhood.

And that would be our June tragedy.
