Synchronised Ops.

Post by This is my name »

Would like to have two buses (vehicles) that have same orders. Already got. Thank you.
However, I would like two buses to have orders whereby one bus waits until two bus come to one stop, then two bus wait at one stop (THAT one stop) ('one stop') until one bus arrives.
I would also like to order bus 1 to go to stop 1 when bus 2 goes to stop 2, and bus 1 to go to stop 2 when bus 2 goes to stop 1.
THAT is my suggestii.

You can sort-of do it with timetables. Though it's tricky to get working just right.

Me DID. Here:

1. When both ehicles have same orders, look for first vehicle going to first station in order of both vehicles. Make sure that the vehicle isat front when going to first station. The order must be at first station in both ehicles' orders, first vehicle and second vehicle at samemoment.
2. Then makesure the vehicles stopped sharing orders.
3. Then in second vehicle orders, click Timetables. Me initially go for another system, but does not work because the vehicle at front (assume vehicle at front as vehicle 1) did have short wait time at first station in both vehicles' orders, however, the vehicle at back (assume vehicle at back as vehicle 2) has short wait time at second station in both vehicles' orders, which causes the vehicle 1 to wait and vehicle 2 not able to move due to being immediately at back of vehicle 1.
4. Run both vehicles bumper to bumper (make sure vehicle 1 is ACTUALLY at front of vehicle 2) to first station in both vehicles' orders.

Tip not working.

Me had to revert.

Here is the fixed tip:
1. Make sure you set 'no breakdowns' in Settings.
2. Both vehicles have same orders. Get both vehicles to opposite stations.
3. Make sure they arrive at opposite stations at same moment.

Also, another suggestion: Get vehicle 1 to stop at stop 1 and wait until vehicle 2 stops at stop 2, and get vehicle 1 to stop at stop 2 and wait until vehicle 2 stops at stop1.

For timetables to work properly you should also make sure the "Travel" steps are timetabled. Right now you're leaving them as not timed, that will let the vehicles drift apart and lose sync. When the timetable is complete, each vehicle will keep track of its "lateness" and automatically wait longer or shorter time at stations, to make up for the lateness.

I do not think the problem is timetables.

At least I would like bus 1 to wait after loading at station 1 until bus 2 has done loading at station 2.

You seem to know. Here, my savegame. The savegame uses 1.10.0-beta2

Truthfully, this is a lot easier to do with the timetable management patches added to JGR Patchpack.

You don't need to combine or rediscover America. The solution exists and, as Kamnet wrote, is used in the JGR patch. It's called "Auto Separation" and works very well.

You buy a vehicle > mapping a route > select the Autofill in the timetable window (auto separate is turn on by default) > start vehicle > buy next vehicles and you don't have to do anything else.

For example: two identical lines.
- There are 20 buses on both.
- On the first one (green) auto separation of vehicles is activated - vehicles drive at equal intervals
- On the second (red) it is not - the vehicles drive in groups, the distances are either none or very large

can be run on JGR 0.32.4

Any way, if Auto Separation doesn't cause problems (I did not notice), it would be worth adding this feature to the main version of the game.
Keeping the spacing between vehicles sharing the same orders is one of the most common problems players what I've seen on servers. Use of a rigid timetable, of course, allows the separation of vehicles, but it is VERY laborious and after each change of vehicles everything has to be done again. :?
