Hi Devs,
Great work. Really enjoy the game.
I'm looking at the source code to learn more.
I've noticed that the opntitle.dat in the source code is significantly different from the opntitle.dat in an installation. The installation I'm using is Windows based.
Are you able to enlighten me on the difference? Why? And am I able to access the appropriate 'repo'?
Brett
Where does opntitle.dat come from?

Re: Where does opntitle.dat come from?
opntitle.dat is the title screen background and is just a renamed savegame AFAIA.
Re: Where does opntitle.dat come from?
Yes it's just a regular savegame file, renamed.
Usually selected through a title game contest, here's the contest for the 1.9 title screen: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=84827

thanks jfs.
I should be able to find the title screen for the 1.9 release on the 1.9 branch. Makes sense now.
I'll have a look.

Re: Where does opntitle.dat come from?
The `opntitle.dat` used in master is a very old savegame, which gives it a secondary purpose for testing - it's immediately obvious if the code to read and convert savegames from previous versions gets broken, and it's compatible with virtually all OpenTTD versions (back to 0.3.x or something) for comparison..

Some old competitions with all entries are actually still online in their entirety. If you search these forums you might find all from all competition rounds (they started with 1.0 iirc):
https://devs.openttd.org/~planetmaker/titlegame-1.1/
https://devs.openttd.org/~planetmaker/titlegame-1.2/
https://devs.openttd.org/~planetmaker/titlegame-1.3/

https://devs.openttd.org/~planetmaker/titlegame-1.6/
https://devs.openttd.org/~planetmaker/t ... .9/round1/
The actual winning entries might have been slightly edited for smaller savegame size (e.g. deleting all irrelevant content not ever becoming visible)
