Power button isn't at the very bottom of the start menu, instead the place is occupied by all apps button.

I suppose I should be glad there is a start menu at all. In fact, two of them. 4 if you count all of the other bizarre buttons next to actual start button.

Clumsy.

My only gripe with Windows 10 so far is that Cortana isn't really Cortana. It's some lame British version.

Nearly six months after it first became available, my laptop has finally decided that I'm ready to install Windows 10. I took the plunge. Upgrade was fairly smooth. Several hours post-installation, I think it's a very worthy upgrade from Windows 7. Only major hiccup I've hit so far is that OBS doesn't want to work anymore. So I'm going to uninstall it and perform a clean install and see if this helps me any.

Open Broadcast Software? I've got it installed and running, on Windows 10, so a clean install may well work.

Update Re: Running Locomotion on Windows 10.

As I stated before, Locomotion would only run with the default maps/vehicles etc, Zimmlock has previously stated this. However, over the last couple of days I have run Lomo using Win 10 on my laptop. The scenario I am using is The Serpent, with the US set, starting in 1920. Also included is AutoPause and the Long Station Patch. I have allowed the game to run for two (2) days. I have not seen any error messages, or the dreaded "Access Violation". So in a nutshell.....it works. I'll try another mod/scenario soon. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,

Greyfox.

You're wierd people. You fight with compatibility issuess, while for few bucks you can have a machine and OS which can run legacy stuff in one shot.

That's great if you want to have a bunch of old hardware around the house and have the room for it. Me, I just recently cleared out a half-dozen dead PCs and parts from the last two decades because it's half broken and too expensive to hunt down replacement parts.

Well.....I do have a PC running Windows 7 Home Edition. The object of my previous post was to emphasize that Lomo with mods will run on Win 10, despite what has been said before in other posts. So I suggest a little thought before you post negative comments. I'm just trying to help.

So lukasz1985, think before you post. Those "few bucks" that you mention, all to often the cost is more than that, some people cannot afford it. I don't fight with compatibility issues, I just do it, and try to offer workarounds to get Lomo to work on Win 10, and I have done just that.

Good luck.

Oh man, you seem to be oversensitive. I wrote this as a constructive thought, because all around the forums I see people having issuess with this, and you are taking it personal.

And I dont think that you cannot afford a PC that's about $40 or $50. I'm a rather poor person with 8 years old PC, but in my country I could easily afford a PC which would run loco for $25 equivalent (and that's only 5x the price of the game if you want to take it this way).

Ok I'll end off-topic here because I smell gates of hell coming in.

After nearly 20 years of accumulating half-working crap, I've found that in my old age that I am starting to crave space, simplicity, and life.

Question: Will there ever be something like Windows 11? I have this feeling they will now stick with 10 for eternity only to update the system (like some sort of subscription based service).

It has been stated by Microsoft themselves at some point that Windows 10 is the 'final Windows'. That can be interpreted multiple ways, will their next OS not be called Windows? or will they stick with Windows 10 and update it.

Who knows!

That sounds somewhat scary. There seems to be an unofficial fix documented here however.

Though not strictly 10 specific, what do people think of the new Edge now included in recent updates? I think it's a pretty good browser so far, and development seems in a good place. It feels like the default browser doesn't have to be used to download another browser for the first time since IE5 was still new.

I've started using it as my main browser on my personal laptop since its independent release, though on my main PC I only use it to stream Disney+ and Netflix, given Firefox and Chrome's streaming DRM doesn't support 4K.
