We've recently added to our family too, a 2nd daughter, she'll be 4 months old on Monday. Interestingly, it's been about 4 months since I had a good nights sleep or had any time for anything!

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I'm a bit late to the party here, but Congrats Owen!
In other news, although I'm sure I can't be the only one to have noticed this, the forums seem to have been eerily quiet in the off-topic and transport sections as of late. Fortunately the various game-related sections have been plodding along fairly nicely still, although again, this seems somewhat quieter than what I remember from a few years ago.
I always find myself wondering what happened to the "old guys" if you will, the one's who used to post relatively consistently and who's accounts now lay dormant. I know real-life happened, but what exactly
Maybe we need another Alan Fry-esque Character, that was nearly 7 years ago now!

Personally, I work full time with the railway, that means that I don't have much desire to spend my free time mismanaging my own railway on my PC.

7 Years, jesus time flies. At least the guy managed to get his name into the history of TT-F, given we still remember him!Pilot wrote: Maybe we need another Alan Fry-esque Character, that was nearly 7 years ago now!
So much jealous, I've given up trying to get jobs in the industry now. I figured after like 10 years of trying, it just isn't happening.Ameecher wrote:I work full time with the railway.

Don't be too jealous, I ended up in a meeting with JamieLei today, the first of many probably...Redirect Left wrote:So much jealous, I've given up trying to get jobs in the industry now. I still check the forums regularly but don't post as much anymore.Pilot wrote:I always find myself wondering what happened to the "old guys" if you will, the one's who used to post relatively consistently and who's accounts now lay dormant. I know real-life happened, but what exactly
Real-life happened quite strongly to me, in a very positive way. For almost 2 years I'm in a relation with the nicest lady I ever met , after moving in with her almost a year ago I officially sold my own house with a healthy profit only yesterday and in the second half of september we may call ourselves mom & dad. I still work in the construction industry but at a different company with plenty of oppurtunities for the future.
Re: The Thread Of Randomness
I just bought a new computer for 13,000 SEK, which is roughly £1070, $1400 or €1300. I'm a little bit uncomfortable by this, but then again I haven't had a brand spanking new computer ever in my life. I've always had to make do with mediocre leftovers and second hand items. I hope I can pick it up today, it is in my local store but not finished preparing it yet.

Thanks . Everything is going well and it's funny how sudden you have to arrange things.

Swap regularly with sometimes. Yet I technically never left. Old promise I made.Hyronymus wrote:I still check the forums regularly but don't post as much anymore.
The olden days were a good time. Lots of activity. TT-Forums related meme's, meet ups in Rail Museums, broken English on my end, Astathica's circumvention of the language filter in the 'What are you listening to @ the moment' music thread. And of course... Owen's mighty fascination with Melissa Joan Hart.
It was a simpler time.

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
Isn’t that the exact image I had as my avatar some years ago?
My current avatar is a good 12 years old, I should maybe change it one day!

Re: The Thread Of Randomness
It may well be the one, Owen.
Indeed, go ahead and change. My current avatar is merely two years old, it can be considered rather current.

Let's not forget when she did that photoshoot for FHM, or was it Maxim? Either way... Phwoar.Mr. X wrote:Yes it was! I still remembered it.orudge wrote:Isn’t that the exact image I had as my avatar some years ago?
