Re: Guess the British station
That is a Cathcart Circle line station for sure.
Going for Williamwood, before they got that awful modern shelter.

Re: Guess the British station
Chuffing massive repeater on the opposite platform. Surely narrows it right down.

Re: Guess the British station
Slaithwaite maybe? Better known as Slawit to the locals.
Re: Guess the British station
My vague memory of Slaithwaite is that it’s on embankment to both sides of the Railway.

Re: Guess the British station
The building in the distance looks very similar to Deighton, although I don't recall the mismatching paintjob on the platform, but lets go with Deighton anyway!

Re: Guess the British station
Deighton is correct! The reason for the mismatch on the platform is that the image shows the transition from old to new, from the recent extension work.Redirect Left wrote:The building in the distance looks very similar to Deighton, although I don't recall the mismatching paintjob on the platform, but lets go with Deighton anyway!

Re: Guess the British station
Aah, fair enough. I haven't used Deighton for a while, only gone through it, and i don't tend to look down at the platform below. I could tell it was at least somewhat recent, as the trees and hedges had been cut which was done last summer. I'm always suspicious I know it at least somewhere deep inside when I see the silly sideways slatted fences, although I don't know how widespread they are, but they seem to be in all the rural and smaller stations in West/South Yorkshire!61653 wrote: Deighton is correct! Where are we now?

Re: Guess the British station
Well that's a record for quick solving I suspect, Burgess Hill it is! Unfortunate i chose that station of all of them at that point in time! was hoping it'd be generic and straight long line of generic station enough for at least 24 hours!acs121 wrote:You posted this photo when I was on a Thameslink train.
