And if by a "full set" for UKRS3 you mean including every British train, BRTrains has proven, that's pretty impractical for UK trainsets.

It's very hard to do each train, except if you don't give a crap about stats. There were lots and lots of prototypes in the British Railways. You can't do a trainset with all trains of a country - that especially applies to the US, Great Britain, France, Germany and Japan. And even if you have a lot of ambition, bring tons of coders and tons of drawers.

I think the train selection in UKRS2 is just fine. For UKRS3 it would be great if later trains would be added, but still regular rail, not monorail/maglev, as far as maybe 2050.

Quick question: is this set fully functional with the vailla tracks (no NuTracks or the like)? If not, what feautures would I be missing?

Thanks!

If you don't have a recognised 3rd rail type, the Type JB (Class 73) will not be available, and the other 3rd rail trains will run on normal electrified track. I think that's all that will be different.

I've uploaded version 1.06 of the main set & add-on which add compatibility with NuTracks 2 r283 (or is it r284M? that's how it shows up in-game).

I've read the last few pages, but figured I might as well re-ask this question, just to be on the safe side.

Is it okay to make an NML version of UKRS2 and the Add-on Set? I'll give proper credit, of course. I know that you said on the last page that you wouldn't mind, but I want to be sure that that's still your opinion before I actually make any serious efforts work towards achieving this.

Sure, although you're probably better off forking Iron Horse, which has prettier and more graphics, and is already in NML.

Thanks!

I'm personally a big fan of UKRS2's sprites, plus this GRF is what really got me into OpenTTD, so I'm a little biased towards liking it.

Should I make a new thread for things related to an NML version of UKRS2 to keep them separate from default UKRS2, or should I just post stuff related to it in this thread instead?

If you're making your own NewGRF, make a new thread.

Hello, I always wondered where did you get the power values for steam locomotives? Is there a specific formula you used to calculate the values, or you chose a value with the game balance in mind?
For example, in the game the 4-6-0 Royal Scot is rated at 1400 imperial HP, but on the Wikipedia article it says that
Apparently a rebuilt 'Royal Scot' proved capable of matching the maximum performance of the much larger LMS Coronation Class.
which is rated at 2700 HP in the game.

They're made up for game balance - there really isn't a simple HP number for steam engines which correlates to the published engine HP of a diesel.

As for those particular locomotives in the addon set, the Coronation does seem oddly powerful compared to the other Pacifics, but that was probably at the request of the contributor. On the other hand, Original and Rebuilt Royal Scots are not at all the same thing, and "apparently capable of matching the maximum performance" is pretty subjective.
