4x is more than welcome. :D
But IMO it is better first to complete your 2x set and then to proceed to 4x.

How about some more early steam vehicles for those who love XIX century?
As for zoom level, I never personally use 4x as 2x is enough.

Yep, all those vehicles are from the UK. But, do they have a name ?
I have even more vehicle suggestions for the set, though :
[+] Spoiler
Buses

Leyland-DAB articulated bus
Leyland Titan
Leyland/Daimler Fleetline
Leyland Olympian (single decker, and double decker)
Leyland Swift
Leyland Lynx
Leyland Panther
Bristol LHS
Volvo 7900
Volvo 8900
Volvo 7000
Volvo 8500

Trucks

Volvo Snabbe
Volvo Trygge
Volvo F10, F12, F16
Volvo FL250
Volvo FM9
I tried to include a few things from the 30s to 60s years.

Re-scaled and ready for action! Update 36 brings taller double-decker buses, along with a couple of minor sprite fixes.

Tagging on the end of the procession is the Mk3 Transit, now available in minibus form.

Update 37 was supposed to be a very minor service release that cleaned up a few bus sprites and made the Omega look more like an Omega and less like a Senator.

Then I realised I accidentally left in the flags which produce the 4x zoom version of the set...

Image

As a result, 4x zoom is now public for those few of us who like to take a more detailed view, or run at high resolutions. Disclaimer: as this was a bit earlier than I intended, you might encounter the odd sprite which looks a bit "off" at maximum zoom, especially around curved and sloped parts of vehicles. If you do, please let me know which vehicle and what's wrong with it, so I can prioritise putting that through the cleanup process before any others.

Thanks everyone! It's great to hear you're liking the set.

I've released Update 38 39 to BaNaNaS, which has fixes and cleanups to all sprites to make sure they look their best in the new 4x zoom level.

Image

These also carry through into the smaller zoom settings - although they're only a pixel or two different at 2x or 1x, you might see some marginally cleaner headlamps, wheelarches and minor details:

Image

Keen-eyed readers will also notice a new minibus in both of those images: a 2014 Renault Trafic to take over from your ageing Transits in the late-game era.

(Edit - I accidentally uploaded the old short horse sprites. Apologies to the 3 people who managed to download the broken version in the time it took me to notice and submit a patched version 39.)

Hello there, first post for YONKS for me :)

I was just wondering, and it may have already been answered, but does this set include the same vehicles as Bob's British Vehicles? I am currently running a game with your set and that one side by side, and as of 1915 there is a fair bit of duplication (not exactly the same but). I was just wondering if i'd lose anything by switching all my road vehicles to your set's versions and deactivating that GRF.

Thanks!

The overlap between the two sets is massive, especially up to the 1950s, but not exactly the same. From memory, some of the stuff you get in Bob's Random Vehicles set that isn't in mine:
[+] Spoiler
  • Thompson Autotanker
  • Albion Reiver
  • Lots of DAF trucks from the '80s onward
  • Livery refits on the modern-era DAF XF
Stuff in my set that's not in Bob's:
[+] Spoiler
  • Most of the '50s-'80s trucks
  • The various minicabs
  • Scarab!
  • Some different vans (although the Transits overlap)
  • Different selection of modern articulated lorries
In general you'll start to see the sets diverge from the point you get the Leyland Octopus onward.

If you're using the bus set as well, the selection in mine is almost completely a subset - Bob's buses has more buses than mine, and does a more detailed job of splitting long-lived models into their respective variants. (e.g. Leyland Tiger TS). I think the Agora and Pulsar are unique to Timberwolf's, though.

Well, Update 40 turned into a bit of a project.

New to the set are 23 different models of tram, from the earliest horse-drawn wagons to modern tram/rail hybrid vehicles.

A couple of screenshots:

(Also showing a new Dennis Ace and Volvo FM9)

There are also some new parameters - the two DLR models and the hybrid class 399 can be chosen to appear in the game as trams only, rail vehicles only, or both - depending on your preference for how you like to create light rail systems.

More cargo trams hopefully to come, but in the meantime, have fun!

A small update - I corrected a bug with steam trams emitting far too much smoke, and also found time to add another couple of cargo trams to keep those lines running into the early 1960s:

As ever, the latest is available on BaNaNaS.

One last update for the weekend - a few consistency fixes across vehicles, a general increase in contrast across the set, and a couple of other little sprite updates. Plus an F.C. Hibberd locomotive to add to the freight tram options.

Image

And now, a request. I'm having a really hard time finding any post-1960s industrial light rail/tramway engines. I know this is partly because usage of them in the real world was very rare after this point (and most of the industrial lines that still existed tried to keep their old rolling stock going rather than buying new) but it would be nice from a gameplay point of view to have some new cargo trams to introduce in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Does anyone know of some suitable tram-type locos? (Ideally UK ones). Thanks!

Take a look at BATS (downloadable in BaNaNaS).
Lots of trams in this one.

Unable to get the set to work properly after latest update downloaded.

Did you increment the minimum accepted openttd build number for the set? Or add any dependencies?

The set appears in the grf list and downloads page, can be added to the grf list and loaded into the game and shows as green in the grf loaded page but no vehicles of any kind appear. no busses, lorries or trams. Set worked perfectly fine for me until I updated this morning.

Any ideas?
