Added a Service Station to the AuzInd161Add-ons.

Copy of the sprite if any one want to use it to add to their project.

Older style where they actually did provide a service, not just in Fuel and Oils but also mechanical Services. You didn't have to get out of your car, even when it was raining the Station Attendant would put petrol in your car and offer to check the oil.

These days we pay more for less service.

I will need to put it on a 2x2 grid as when I tested it in game cars couldn't drive through.

Updates to the 2 AuzInd161 sets.

* Added a Shopping Centre to AuzInd161 (Set 1).
* Added Service Station to AuzInd161Add-ons. (Set 2).
* Removed Open Cut Coal Mine from AuzInd161.
* Added Open Cut Coal Mine to AuzInd161Add-ons.
* Soft Drink Factory to AuzInd161Add-ons.

* Added new Cargo "Processed Foods"

If I had a brain I'd be dangerous :)

I don't need the 2 Industry sets for AuzInd161.

AuzInd160 can continue as the large set with all the Industries. So far there is 86.

AuzInd161 can be a cut down version with reduced number of Industries. This at moment has 47 .. probably add 1 more so can add Parcels to the Cargos.

I don't think there is any need for AuzInd161Add-ons.

Nah, your delusion resolved itself improved insights in reality came quite quickly, I've had a few that needed years to decide! :D

Edit: Improved wording, "delusion" is a bad word, sorry.

Our brains work in mysterious ways .. especially mine. What sound like great idea one day often with a re-think during the night have even a better idea next day .. or as you put it can be years later :D

That what I love about people putting comments in our forums even if to them might sound silly .. as they often lead to better ideas. Some times their ideas are better what I been ideaing about. :lol:

To be honest, I'm almost never happy with the results of my work. I always feel like I could have done something in a better more organized way (especially when it comes to computers).

I'm almost half tempted to try redoing my NARS ADDON Set again to try and organize things a little differently but for now I'll have to leave things as they are (I just redid windows 10 and I'm not in the mood to redo all the NML compiler stuff like MinGW and python)

Where I'm upto with the AuzInd Sets.

Making 2 sets:

* AuzInd160 which has all the Industries I made 87 to date and 32 Cargos.

and

* AuzInd161 which is a cut down version of AuzInd160. Has 47 Industries and 31 cargos.

Top is a service Station.

Middle Left is Shopping Mall.

Middle is a Super Market.

Middle right .. Soft Drink Factory

and bottom is Open Cut Iron Ore Mine.

The other 4 only in AuzInd160.

I have finished AuzInd161 Set.

It is a cut down version to AuzInd160.

AuzInd161 has 46 Industries and 30 Cargos.

Want to give it a try here the NewGRF file and documents. Also a separate copy of the Changelog161.txt file if you like to read what cargos and Industries are included.

Here's AuzInd160 Version 27. Has 86 industries so far and 32 cargos.

I changed the graphics to the Soft Drinks Factory .. previous was just a practice using some FIRS buildings to get some ideas.

I seeing if I can do some railway cranes to add to Industry sets and object sets.

This is a 5 ton Girder Crane seen at many railway sidings in New South Wales, Australia and when I looked on internet also seen pics of cranes like these in other countries.

Some where looked after and regularly painted grey and some in smaller country towns they couldn't afford paint so let them get rusty.

Been trying to also draw a jib crane but to date my drawing skills for those isn't good .. will try again later with those.

I intend to change the graphics for Goods Sheds and Loading Banks in the AuzInd160 set so they will all have one of these girder cranes with road access.

Or another idea I pondering on is to add these cranes only to the AuzObject_Rail set and design them so they can be added manually to the Industry Goods Sheds and Loading Banks.

I shall keep pondering for a while longer and see what I come up with.

The Gantry Crane and Access Roads are from AuzObjects_Rail Object Set.

Still need a access road on the far side of the Goods Shed.

Got some other ideas to try.

Been suggested I add Copper, Bauxite and Uranium mines to my Industry set, but I don't have enough cargos available .. so wonder what you would think if I did add those and have them produce Minerals or Raw Minerals as the cargo for all of them?

AuzInd160 Version 28 hope to have ready later in week.

Following changes been made:

All the farms have had the tractors and trucks removed so they will look better no matter what year you start your games.

The been replaced with either horses (courtesy PolRoads), other farm animals or different buildings.

Changed some graphics to Goods Sheds, Loading Banks and Wool Dumps.


Been suggested to me to change available dates to many of the Industries when they become available in Australian. Not sure about this yet as some people use my Industry set in other countries and many Industries became available a lot sooner then what they did in Australia. any opinions on this idea appreciated.

You may want to read some considerations wrt that for FIRS, at viewtopic.php?p=1182282#p1182282

[In the post underneath it, I expanded the discussion a bit towards technical details why it happens]

Final conclusion: You need to enable industry closure so new industries can replace existing ones.

Thanks Alberth for that information.

I don't think I be having to many start dates for Industries .. about the only ones that could do with start dates are the Railway Related Industries and have these starting to appear when trains where first invented. Apart from that I think the rest can be available as normal.


Also if I add the start dates, I have to be very careful making sure cargos are correctly available where needed. I think a problem it could cause if a industry that needs 2 or more cargos before they start producing could be a problem if any of the cargos it requires if not yet available.

Making changes to the AuzInd sets.

I've added Grocery and Hardware Store to both sets .. forgot to do that before.

AUZIND160:

Changes:

Changed graphics to farm tiles .. replacing all tractors and trucks with either Animals or buildings .. this will make the look a lot better when game starts before vehicles were invented.

Changed the graphics with the 2 Goods Sheds in AuzInd160.

The 2 Goods Sheds on left are Industries and been extended using objects from the AuzObjects_Rail set. The 2 on right are normal Goods Sheds Industries with out the object extensions.

They are designed so can make them longer using object Goods Sheds and Ballast and Ground Tiles from the AuzObjects_Rail set. The object rails are also included in AusObjects_FakeRailwayLines.

Here's a copy of Version 29 which I will also release on Bananas.

Some of the changes since Version 26 are:

Change graphics to both Goods Sheds.
Changed graphics to some farm tiles .. replaced all tractors and trucks so that these will be more suitable no matter what year you start game.
Changed graphics to Butcher and Grocery Shops name changed to Butcher and Green Grocer .. Accepts: MEAT, FRESH PRODUCE .. Produce: Nothing.
