[Request] - Small patch Pack

Post by Chico008 »

Hi

i have no skills in coding at all, but i'd like a smal patch pack which include
- Infra Sharing
- Cargo Dest
- Daylength

Juste these 3 patch.

there are plenty of patch pack which include those 3, but with all other patches, and everytime the game crashes for some reason, and devs never knows why ...

Thanks for your help.

PS : if one day these 3 patch could be included in trunk, that would be great :)

That's not a small patch pack!
The number of patch names may be small, but all those patches make fundamental changes in how everything works ("daylength" for example changes the concept of time, which is used by pretty much everything).

As you may know cargo-dest is in trunk, you can play a nightly.
The other patches still have some unsolved fundamental problems.

ChillCore's Patch Pack, while not running the latest version of OpenTTD code, is pretty stable, and any issues with crashes typically get solved in a quick manner. The Spring Patch Pack is still new-ish, but its developer has so far worked out every bug he's come across.

Just curious, what other patch packs have you worked with?

The Cargo Dest in thrunk is wrong.

With the one we used tu use, the passenger went in town where we had some stations going there, now you have to make them go wherever they want, even if you don't have station going there.

Otherwise, weused an old chill's pack, but crashed when the game begins to be pretty serious.
we tried YAPP, but crash to often, same for Hard patch pack

just tried the last chill's pack (v14.7), but got lots of error when making, and finally the make doesn't work.

Most probably you haven't activated it yet. Check the settings.

Also, FYI the one that entered the trunk is called CargoDist (Cargo Distribution), not CargoDest (Cargo Destinations). Probably if you have played with the later one, that's not the thing that entered the trunk.

Then you're going to be severely out of luck. Cargo Destinations hasn't been updated in nearly 5 years.

In the last post in the YACD thread linked by YNM I told everyone why I only updated it once. It probably needs a full rewrite, which I won't do, mostly because (1) it's a LOT of work and (2) my knowledge of the code was barely enough to work around the changes to OpenTTD that happened since the last official release.
As far as I know, there is exactly one patchpack containing YACD. If that doesn't work for you, your options are to (1) report all the bugs and crashes you encounter in the patchpack's thread or (2) go ahead and make a new one yourself, based on some old revision that doesn't have Cargodist yet, because I doubt someone else will waste time recreating ipsirc's work.

Well, Cargodest hasn't been updated. But Michi_cc wrote YACD, and apparently the OP didn't actually use Cargodest, but YACD.

Please report it how! I'm interested because i've tested the last version only in singleplayer.

And here you are a small patch pack with yacd + is + true daylength.

Thank you very much ipsirc for this mini patch :)
we'll test it on multiplayer ;)

Otherwise, we are testing the last Spring Patch for now, pretty stable server side, but some player experience lots of desynch.

i (or Xatrix) will make a report for the patch you are offering tu us asap.

What i did :
-Took the 1.3.2 sources from openttd.org
-Apply patch on linux (patch -p0 < patch.diff)
-Tar & get the archive patchd : http://hfr.openttd.fr/sources/1.3.2-mini.tar
-Open project on VS2012
-Set release/x64
-Set "include directories" to "openessentials/shared/include" & "lib dir" to "openessentials/win64/library"
-Add _XKEYCHECK_H on C++Preproc
-Build solution

I got an .exe but it crash.

It seems YACD doesn't work with stable version
we don't have the "linkgraph" section to set up cargodest.

Linkgraph? YACD? Stable? What are you talking about?
The Linkgraph Settings are added by Cargodist, which is in trunk now. (Use nightlies or compile a svn checkout yourself to use it.)
Stable (1.3.x) doesn't have Cargodist/dest at all.
YACD-patched stable should have the settings in the Economy category. At least if ipsirc didn't move them.

If you still can't find them, try typing "dest" into the filter box of the settings window. It should reduce the shown settings to only the destination settings.

I would love just those three in one patchpack (don't mind if there's more...) but simply for the sake of stable multiplayer. CargoDist (as in the one now in the trunk)/InfraShare and perhaps something that can slow the games down and separate trains would be a dream come true for myself and few of my friends who've tried time and time again various packs for multilayer stability. I do, however, understand that its probably a big task for a niche market that probably won't happen any-time soon.
Regards,

Tinny/Tintinfan. :)

You are right, it's the CargoDest in trunk, my bad.

so in fact, we would just need a patch with Infra Sharing et Daylenght, but on one of the last trunk version (not on stable 1.3.2)

:)

otherwise, the patch you made ipsirc is working very very fine, no server crash, et no desynch for players :)
