Wetlands
Starting in the year 1900, this ficticious land is a low lying, valley area sliced by many crazy rivers and in-land lake which all feed the region's agricultural economy. Not many large cities or manufacturing plants, you must do what you can to profitably transport livestock, grain, wood and express cargos around the map and often over rivers. Upon an initial success, of course, your opportunities are endless. You can build your own manufacturing plants and work to grow cities to large size, or streamline your rails into a seamless network.
Features:
---1024x1024: Self-explanatory
---Logically placed industries: Due to this being an agricultural based region, the manufacturing industries are only on the islands on the outskirts of the map. Farms and forests are only near water sources
---Handmade rivers: these varied-width, realistic shaped rivers cut the map into different areas you can focus on or bridge together
---Almost flat land: Completely flat land is boring, but I added some raised areas to add some variety
---100% handmade: Nearing 20 hours spent on making this map and version 1.1
Version 1.1 Updates!
Released July 29th to Bananas. Please update immediately.
---Made the map 1024x instead of 512x AND removed any NewGRF/AI/Gamescript requirements! (Sorry about that...)
---To do all of this ^ I had to almost completely remake the map from a heightmap of Version 1. Things have been reworked greatly.
---It all looks a lot prettier and smoother. Thanks for any feedback.
---I'm so so so tired
Please download and try it out and leave tips, suggestions, comments, thoughts, critiques, and Starbucks gift card codes in the replies! (Just kidding about the last part)
I'm seriously interested in making more original maps in the future, so I'll listen to any suggestions!
Thanks

Delightful scenario, I wish others would post their outcomes of this one. All 4-tracked with a trio each of 2- and 6-tracked train routes.175-year-old existence still hasn't been tainted by tedious timetabling fussings

Hee hee, "delightful".. that sort of bridge can be imposing the way it looms, so up close to one you mightn't say that, although the one you spy is a beaut like the others it comes with. It's from v1.2 of total bridge renewal set.

Re: Wetlands
Most of the newgrfs in my 1st shared saved game here come courtesy of the content downloader. A pair of newgrfs had to be extracted manually; I sourced mine - being the town set plus one of its train station kits - from the zip file 'ottdc_grfpack_8.0' @ http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/grfpack/releases/8.0/ .. .. errrr I'm too curious to learn whether the progress thus far possibly be stirring to be staving off sharing its state until the game itself have ample trains.
