Here's the above building done with the NEW snow transitions, running a full cycle from 0 to 4 to 0:

Excuse the poor quality. I'll run a poll for a few days to gauge people's opinions on it. If it's positive, I'll hide away and do this to all buildings!
I do not think they technically do, because you have one large heap of snow on the roof which makes the impression of huge amount already; while the original graphics have it broken apart with occasional grass. % of snow might be similar but the composition makes it looks a lot more fluent I think.
I was just practising how to draw sprites, when I came up with these Post Bus sprites. I guess they could be any bus in the Post Bus fleet. I don't know really what they're for, I just thought I'd draw a bus I'd been on; so I chose one from Saas Fee. I'd just thought I'd post them here to see what you think.

nice start - however the roof is black in the horizontal views and white in the others. Also the roof in the horizontal views looks too narrow, but I can't work out if it actually *is* too narrow or its the darkness throwing me off
If you draw excellent sprites, I have confidence a coder will code them into a .grf for you (potentially me, depending on when the sprites are posted in relation to my university schedule).
I drew a Sprinter ages ago, though a littte too large (correct scale: 2 pixels per meter - it's pretty much the only value that can be near-universally applied in TTD). It's in the LRVS, which is also on Bananas - and under the GPL, so go ahead and use it.

A quick question to the masses - what are the most number of construction stages usable in OTTD? Also - can these stages have the full 5 snow transitions? Or just no snow and snow?
you can do as many snow transitions as you like. there is only one snow line, the "transitions" are only visual effects based on whether you're one tile above or below the snow line.

Interesting.
Anyway - we have some progress in this set. First of all, Fraenklie is ever so kindly allowed me to use some buildings he drew a while back.

I'm sure you'll agree they are of high quality. Now, as they are quite large, myself and Yoshi have a plan to code these as buildings that will line the streets of the larger alpine towns and then my TARS buidlings can be used in the smaller villages on the hillsides.
Is this something that people would like to see? Feel free to comment and vote in the poll!
have you ever thought about coding "villages" as industries? (just houses, no roads, possibly let them plant fields like farms do) then they would stay small.
