bwong's graphic design thread

Post by bwong »

Hello Forum! :D

So, recently I've gotten into some BASIC graphic design and would like to just put some of my works up for the community to comment, critique, and hopefully to appreciate!

Just as a heads up, some of works are religious, so just as an FYI, none of the works attempt to insinuate other religions or beliefs.

Anyways, let's get started:

Image
^ This was an unofficial poster made for one of Wong Fu Production's called Strangers Again.

Image
^ This was a poster I made while going through an emotionally tough time (girl problems :( ) and I needed to decide on what my priorities were, either her or my God.

Image
^ This was part of a poster series I'm currently making that will cover all the books of the bible.

WIP SECTION:
Image
^ This is a WORK IN PROCESS. It is not my own original idea (I saw it somewhere on deviant art, but haven't seen it again since...)

NOTE TO SELF:

Love it love it love it!

Graphic design is something that I really enjoy reading about, even if I'm a bit hopeless at it myself.

I usually check out these websites from time to time:

http://idsgn.org/
Any opinions expressed are purely mine and not that of any employer, past or present.

Although I understand you like to show your art without modifying the size I kindly request you to shrink them so they won't break forum tables. Please read the (renewed) forum rules for allowed dimensions.

[EDIT] hope the new images conform with the rule (max size of 600*800)?

Ahhaha. I had to change that.
but, honestly, there's no connection :wink:

Most of the content will be about cities, photographs about cities, essays about cities. But then at the same time, I wanted my own personal feel to website, and BEAN is quite important to me :)

Sorry for confusion! :oops:

[edit] So here is version 0.0.1 of the website, very crude, not a lot finished... LOL, but take a look :)

I hate websites that are hiding links (disabling/avoiding changing cursor into "hand").

In the about me section, the upper right text is messed up. This occurred to me on Firefox and is reproducable. Also, the in-page text is pixelated as can be seen in the picture attached. I love the website look though. Very clean.

May i ask, what version of firefox are you using?

Thanks tho :D

[EDIT] Hey guys,
I would like to request your aid :)
I'm trying to complement this really cool feature but can't seem to get it to work...
I attached my current website folder thing here, and there's only one html file, so yeah. Its on line 97 (my feebish attempt to implement it) and yeah. So if anyone could help me, I would be eternally grateful :)

Also, when browsing one of the four pages, it is not existing in the top right browse section. Instead, the other three move around. They are placed differently depending on which page you are currently in. This is extremely confusing. Could you perhaps make it so that all four pages are always there and that the current page is sort of greyed out instead? This will make it very clear which page one is on, and also ensure that they all stay in the same place when browsing :P
