Right , i'm sure now
You've used TTDX configurator
Well this program writes following switches
morevehicles=4
reducedsave=3
But you can't control the reducedsave switch
Normally this one should always be zero, never ever use it
But you're using the configurator and so you can't do anything about it
Why: because i sent your savegame and config file i got from you on 16 nov. (remember ?) to Marcin, righthand of Josef (patchman) he replied me the following:
Indeed. And it will crash on every version of TTDPatch. It's broken.
It got broken because of a bug in the 'reducedsave' option which exists
in all versions of TTDPatch before 1.9 beta 3. (Therefore, it is fixed
in the 1.9 release.)
To make it clear: using 1.9 will not help with this savegame. No
version of TTDPatch will help, the game is fatally broken. I can't fix
it either. Using 1.9 will prevent this from happening again, though.
Please tell the guy to turn the reducedsave option OFF. It should be
used only if really *really* necessary, never for normal saving because
it *loses data*.
By the way, tell him also to use "on" or "y" instead of "1" to enable
switches, because "1" doesn't do what he seems to expect for switches
that take a value like multihead.
So i sent an e-mail to the creator of the configurator program and he replied this:
About the reduced save, I've decided to auto configure it because it is
highly recommended to keep the vehicles value controlled. Also, the value
created by TTDX Configurator for this key should not disturb you, since it
is controlled by the Extended Vehicles amount as you already know.
Well, who to believe
Just try to start a game by creating a desktop shortcut to the ttdpatchw.exe with the option -W ttdpatch.cfg
This should rewrite your config file with the right settings and comments
Then put zero behind reducedsave
Start a new game and try the vehicle depot click
I for one never use the configurator because it has these negative points
- new switches are never there
- other sequence than when the patch creates it
- the patch adds comments in you're language
- the patch accepts more arguments, f.e. multihead : with the configurator you have 1, but this should be a percentage, so f.e. 35 , this means that every added train gives a boost of 35 %
- the reducedsave is always on, you can't control it
Hope i don't offend anyone with this
