Alpha 1.9.2 works better for me!?

Post by Jan »

I red all about alpha release from Spaceman posts. Looks OK to me, so I did installed it. And, surprise!!!; works very well, even better then 1.9. The game is not crashing, depot problems gone and all my trains runs on monorail! If I got the new trains graphics with that, I will be in TTD heaven. :P :P :P

Thanks Jan,
So you are using the 1.9.1 alpha 2 too !

If you mean 'crash when clicking on vehicle in depot' problem solved , then Clarckbhm should definitley try the latest alpha patch

My was posted 11/20/02! Check this. It's down in the framed area. Not the link on the beginning of the changes. The file is ttdpatchw.exe, it's from 11/17/02, the 4th one from the bottom, but its different from the latest one!? I'm confused by that, but works well for me. Maybe I'm stupid or tired. For you is a new day, for me, still very late night.

This had to be some glitch, because today I did recheck both files and they are the same. Sorry.
Here is what happened. I downloaded the "newest" patch and after start, asked for CD!? So, I opened the config file and no new ships, no switch for maglev-monorail, no win2000 on, etc. Went back on Josef site and downloaded just the patch exec file from list of files on source's page, deleted the old ones and now my config file was OK. This was the confusion, sorry for the hupla.
Jan
My TTD windows version was downloaded from german site repacked with patch and installer etc. Maybe I missed some of the files when deleting the older version of the patch or something like that. BTW, I own the original Windows version on disk, just to lazy to look for it, so I downloaded this one.

To be honest, I don't remember. I did it maybe a year ago or so, when I couldn't find the CD, because my "kids" was playing with my "organized mess" and constantly "reorganizing" everything. Till today, I got still problem to find stuff. :(

That's the beauty of windows XP, you can create a user for them with limited access, they can't see or mess with your documents :D

Well I'm not using that. Just no one goes on my pc. But my files are still shared. Just only pcs logged in with my username and password can access them. So even a admin pc couldn't.

Hard to do that. I got 6 working computers here. But only two are fast enough, my daughter using Photoshop and my son like to play shooters! So, they grab the good ones and I'm ending with P2 266 to play TTD! What I can say, I didn't see them for 18 years, they didn't like the fact, I divorced their mother, moved away and so on. Then they find me on the internet and we are good friends now. You guys will find very soon, how this work. Trust me.
