It's true, it's Locomotion with TTD music and touchscreen interface. However, I wouldn't call it "Locomotion labeled as Transport Tycoon". Locomotion was pretty likely meant to be TT2 but had to be named differently due to trademark issues (http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 4#p1087424)...

I think of it as Sawyer or the developing team having another attempt at making Locomotion from scratch (apart from the graphics, unless they add new stuff), especially since the game is going to be played on a touchscreen device

At the very least, Mr. Sawyer is using these graphics since he owns them and it required $0 hire somebody to create them. Perhaps, at the very most, we know for sure which graphical style Mr. Sawyer prefers.

CS may own the graphics but he never made them. ;)

Btw i'm playing a sometimes buggy locomotion mobile. How cool's that? Now i wait for someone creating locotool for the mobile versions :D
I like it on my ipad. On my s3 i never tried that. But i like the mobile version very much. Cant wait to import my models there.

SQ
i did all models/renderings/textures myself. no conversions.

seelenquell.pytalhost.com has been reactivated from 16/07/28 till 18/05/31.. now it´s deactivated. at least there..

I installed Locomotion yesterday and I think it is far better done than this one. The attention to detail in Locomotion is incredible for a one developer game. I really don't know why they decided to keep this graphics. Look dated and boring and when zooming in pixels are so great that you can't tell what you are seeing.

I really hope there will be someone would like to develop such tools for compiling addons for TTM, but it is not that likely to happen I afraid  Another problem is there is no scenario editor in the game, a new savegame editor is also needed.

i think it´s better/cheaper to use graphics that exist than to create new ones.. maybe CS wanted them to use these.. i don´t know. it´s also a matter of the graphics-engine to use. and the code CS wrote for locomotion just used (t)his engine. why bother to make a new one when you already have one?

you can always mail the developers over at transporttycoon.com :) i know that a large group of people wants to have a sandbox-mode. a scenario-editor than would be a must-have. who knows? maybe we would get one when the time has come?

I think once most of the realy annoying bugs are gone, we will see a scenario editor. They have not said no to all the requests for one.

Locomotion- [no mods]
  • Breakdowns ruin any idea of having a "network"
  • Path finding is substandard
  • No ability to clone or share orders
TT2013-
  • Breakdowns ruin any idea of having a "network"
  • Path finding is substandard
  • No ability to clone or share orders
  • Routing a train is really painful
  • The interface is overwhelming
  • With just 3 trains, it starts to lag (the animation at least)
So it isn't just locomotion repackaged, it's locomotion with added "benefits"?

EDIT: Thanks

Pathfinding has been buggy since TTO  Of course I know pathfinding has never been an easy thing, especially in the presence of signaling, which is quite unique among similar games.

Well, when Sid Meier introduced signals to his newest RRT game (Sid Meier's Railroad),
his game became an instant rubbish IMHO.
I think that illustrates how difficult path-finding is with signals involved.

The OpenTTD developing community had surely done a superb job.

This is a scam, only to get into your pockets. It's not worth what it is.

Didn't you read the fine print in the product monograph?
Transport Tycoon is a class 1 addictive substance. It has been seen to be more addictive than a "bet you can't eat just one" bag of chips (aka "crisps"). It is available in a variety of forms with each more addicitve than the former. There is no known cure other than the unreliable "cold turkey" program induced by a power outage or a failed hard drive after which severe withdrawal symptoms appear and can only be alleviated with a rapid reintroduction of the substance.

How can possibly anybody cure a cancer by paying $40 or whatever only to get a ported game? Maybe if the profit goes to charity that would be true.
