Sure, I just wanted to know what's behind it. I mean, why they are presenting old game under new name (if they do so). But I think I know why.

We have let you know the scoop. Stop being so demanding. We all had a go. I built a track between Brum and Coventry but someone before me had used all the money so I couldn't buy a train. That's all I did.

I don't know who you think you are, or who I am, but I don't take kindly to demands and for a further time - I'm not a games reviewer. It wasn't an exclusive club, the meet was open to anyone. If you didn't come, that's not altogether my problem.

Now, why don't you have a look at the thread in the sub forum where a few people have posted some comments.

I'm sure I'm biting at a troll here. You cannot be serious!?
I'm sorry if I've offended you, I can assure you your not talking to a troll. Had I known that a preview of TT2013 was there it is quite possible I would have attended (I'm only 2 hours from London by train) I wouldn't describe my self as a frequent poster on these forums anyway. Would you at least answer a couple of questions? (If not I will leave it here.) Does it use depots like TT? or more like Locomotion? What features are taken form OpenTTD? How is the UI layed out? and Did you seen any additional vehicles that weren't in Locomotion?

Mainline421, the features I have been told about from OpenTTD: Fast Forward Button, TTD: the Music and Vehicles from screenshots, I have seen some pink trucks that are clearly unfinished. I will let those who were there to add further comments.

For the love of god...

It's a new game. It may look like locomotion but there's a fair amount different, the UI is a bit different for example.

I agree with this. If my opinion was crucial, I would love to TT2013 was "just" improved Locomotion... if it was for PC.

An article ("interview") with Chris Sawyer talking about the new game: http://www.redbull.com/uk/en/stories/13 ... ck-on-ipad

I am not sure if there are some new information, though.

RCT remains up in the air as bankrupted Atari tries to auction off its assets, Can we expect an iPad port of RollerCoaster Tycoon next?
It's definitely crossed my mind - who knows what the future might hold
The new Transport Tycoon is anything but a port, however. Though it uses the original artwork by Simon Foster, optimised for HD screens in 2013, as Sawyer makes clear, it’s a complete rewrite of the original game.

I like this guy's comment on Facebook:
Will this new version include the ability to create mods? I would love to see the North American Renewal Set and the Industrial Renewal set

If it's iOS-compatible, I highly doubt that players will be able to make any changes to it :P

It's also for Android. IIRC, Android applications can be decompiled into source code.

TTD did not use "mods" or NewGRFs. Why are people expecting this version will? If Chris Sawyer wanted anything to do with any of that, he would have embedded himself in the OpenTTD community a long time ago.

Locomotion allows new vehicles.

But the game doesn't allow too many changes. For example, you can have articulated wagons, but they can't show different cargo loading states.
The number of industries is very restricted: 16.
You can't add non-bulldozable houses or cargo accepting objects.
You can't have more than 224 vehicles...

[quote="maquinista"Locomotion allows new vehicles.[/quote]

*bangs head against wall*

This isn't Locomotion ported to mobile.
This isn't OpenTTD.
This isn't TTDPatch.

It's Chris Sawyer's Transport Tycoon. Which both he and the developer announced will retain the SAME gameplay from the old PC version, but based on ENTIRELY NEW CODE. You're not going to be able to throw NARS or any other NewGRF on it, because he NEVER developed TTD to have those capabilities to begin with. They've also announced that there is NOT going to be any upgrade/add-ons, and why would you for a mobile app anyhow? Package management is already messy enough on Android, at the very least. I dunno if it's even possible on iOS. This is going to be a "one and done" deal, outside of upgrades to the game as a whole.

I got a feeling that many people who have been spoiled by the hacking and patching of OpenTTD and Locomotion are going to be very frustrated and disappointed in the new mobile Transport Tycoon.
