In case you mean the world I pictured: kind of. It cannot be an actual sphere as you cannot display a (real) sphere using a rectangular map. My solution is just the closest you'll get to a sphere. If you were talking about something else, sorry ;-)

Actually, that kind of map isn't a sphere but a tore.

I'm not sure I like that idea myself though. The unlimited map is pretty nice, expecially for multiplayer, but I agree there should be a way to limit map size for further challenge. Maybe have a special seed that will always generate water past a certain distance from the 0,0 point or something.
I am little, ugly, and nasty. How do you do?
