On http://www.p1sim.org you find all official information about the project info, graphics and coding as well as polls and an up-to-date FAQ.

Please join the community, since it's very important for me to know how many people are interested in the project. Having joined the community you able to participate in the polls and thus influence the development progress.

Here is a preview of the website:

//edit: If you want to read the "big" thread (with over 1000 posts), you should skip all posts of 2009, 2010 and 2011. Start with the 2012 posts. All the others are very out-of-date and contain many features that have dramatically changed. If you want to discuss features, you dont have to read the big thread first. Just read the summary on http://www.p1sim.org and join our discussions :)

I am currently diving into Unity3d. During the development the problems of 2D graphics, especially top down graphics, became bigger. I am playing around with voxel based terrain now.

Yes. But still grid based and with unified slope angles. To keep the game as clean as it is.
