i really want to do something because otherwise i feel like a parasite
using others creations

GRFCodec, Notepad (or vi/emacs/ed, if you're on that OS), and your favourite indexed-PCX-capable image editor.

You can use also GRFMaker, that is downloadable from internet if you search it in Google... And you can find tutorials too, if you search for "GRF Tutorial".
