Generic Skyscraper Objects Set provides many skyscrapers from various origins, decades and styles as objects to help add extra flair to your cities.
v0.1, last updated March 2020. Made by CaptainKlutz. Original GRF (California City Set, viewtopic.php?t=76786) by Luxtram.

Included in 0.1:

Los Angeles skyscrapers
Image

San Diego skyscrapers
Image

San Francisco skyscrapers
Image

San Francisco city blocks

License
The original California City Objects newGRF uses a license similar to GPL-v2, so a similar license has been adopted here.

Hi!...They are wonderfull. Is it possible to make them as an eyecandy grf?
I have played a game for years, and this grf never worked (because of a grf overdose I suppose jaaj)

Objects are eyecandy newgrfs. You just place them wherever there is a free space.

Hi. But they still work as real houses, not eyecandy on the eyecandy Objects menu.
I started a new game without grfs, added the grf later, and the towns started to build them alone. Nothing on the Objects menu.

They look very effective, it's just a pity that most of them are based on four tiles and with standard houses they look caricatured

they absolutly to big in my opinion ,its not 3d view and they covering a lot of city bildings and other stuff .I know its skyscrapers are nice looking but for OpenTTD 2D view better are smaller buildings WITH!!!!! more details

I appreciate your job ,but cant play WITH!!!!! this becaus i dont see whats happening around . I dont whant play transparent mode,i'm just player its to hard to make my objects .Maby sometimes when some inwide the app to create own bildings.
p.s. in my opinion the skyscrapers have to big scale for other bildings that look's not nice

I, too, do not like this set. It is full of dark, angular, uninviting buildings. I would prefer it if you had made a set of giant fluffy bunnies instead and am deeply appalled that you chose to not cater to my personal preferences.

(yes, i am being sarcastic.)

So do I. It's very well crafted! Could do with some activity on the concrete ground (pedestrians, vegetation, etc), otherwise I really love it!

If they're too big and overshadow the rest of your town, just make some crazy ass boulevards to spread them out a little :)

In short:
- Start up Paint
- Place pixels at right place
done..

Seriously:
Couple of things to consider at the start
- Make sure you know what the size of a single groundtile is in OpenTTD (I'll tell ya, 32 pixels by 32 pixels, but you can find loads of templates in the forum)
- Make sure you know how the shading works in OpenTTD (what side is bright, what side is dark)
- What colors are you going to use (32bpp or 8bpp)

And then just start with boxes, so you can show what size of skyscrapers would fit better into OpenTTD.
It doesnt have to be a masterpiece from the start ;-)
