TARS Mountain Lifts Release [v0.3 04/10/2015]

TARS New Objects

Mountain Lifts
A collection of fully animated mountain lift NewObjects. Contains:

- gondola and chairlift tiles with various pylon placements.
- overlay tiles for crossing roads/railways.
- three modular base stations
- three modular top stations
- ability to make mid-stations

Code: Select all

Version 0.1 (May 2015)
-Initial release
-[FEATURE] Gondola sprites
-[FEATURE] Three gondola base stations
-[FEATURE] Three gondola top stations

Version 0.2 (August 2015)
-[FEATURE] Chairlift sprites
-[FEATURE] Three chairlift base stations
-[FEATURE] Three chairlift top stations
-[FIX] Gondola cabins sprites improved
-[FIX] Gondola pylons improved 
-[FIX] Various graphics problems

Version 0.3 (October 2015)
-[FEATURE] Modular gondola stations
-[FEATURE] More informative menu sprites
-[FIX] Various graphics improvements

Looks like we need a couple of new industries to receive tourists: Ski Lodges and Hospitals... 8)

First post has been updated with Version 0.2! Huge thanks to Yoshi for his tireless work in correcting all my countless graphical issues.

The changelog details the new features - including chairlifts and new look gondola sprites.

Quick question, how do you actually use this newgrf? I downloaded, copied the .grf file into OpenTTD\newgrf, and the game recognizes the newgrf in the "NewGRF settings" screen. I add it, and load it into the game. How do you construct stations/tracks/etc?

Help would be appreciated, thanks!

Are you looking in the NewObjects menu? Click on the LANDSCAPE button on the menu and then the OBJECTS button that looks like a radio transmitter.

This is really good and fun. That would make a fun way to transport people... and goods. Some mines do use or used "cable cans" to carry ores and people.

Of course then that mean lots of efforts to turn those into a special transport type... tramway, probably, to allow several vehicles on the "track" without having to deal with signals.
Probably very xomplex to code and draw for OTTD, but a fun idea!
