I think all of us declaring the set to be dead were being a bit facetious. As Dandan JUST POSTED a few days ago saying he has an update coming in a few weeks, I don't think the set's considered dead by any means.

Maddog45353 wrote:Well do to people considering it's a dead trainset and you just stated you have little time. I am beginning to think posting anymore bugs or glitches would be rather pointless. If you could find someone to take over this project and perhaps have more time to do it that would be great :D

Hey Maddog45353, you really need to respect the author for his work so far and the fact that he is offering to do work in the future. He's even pointed out that a new release could be available in a few weeks.
Do you understand how quickly that will pass? Go buy a book or start a new game with a different GRF set? Come back to this when your "game wrecking" bugs are solved.

We thank you for your testing, you've done a great job and have picked up things that even dandan missed... am sure he's appreciative of the help/support as well.

But PLEASE do not go harassing him. A lot of us are in this community for the fun and reward. Players can be demanding, and they get more demanding as artists produce more. It's a really dangerous cycle. So please just show some respect and patience...

Continue the bug reports.... you're only helping the set gain more polish. Feel good for contributing and reap the reward when dandan has the time for the next release.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have just uploaded version 1.0d. Some small bug fixes and minor adjustments. Thank you all for your feedback.

I, for one, am disgusted that it's taken so long. Can I have my money back?

You're good at this!

I found a glitch with the Swiss Express Coach driving trailer. Some pixels flash (little palette problem I guess). I spotted those flashing pixels when the cab faces S and SE, but there may be some more.

Bad timing... but thank you for the bug report.

Just a matter of balancing. The decrease is very moderate and only affects certain kinds of freight. So don't panic! 8)

@dandan: Great Set. I was sticked to my large Canadian scenario, so it took a while until I could try out your work.

One question remains, however: is it possible to make at least one cabcar (light steel coach, for example) compatible with the Skls-car to simulate the push-pull-trains found on the Autoverlad services?

That's an interesting point. It had not even occured to me before.

It is certainly possible to allow a consist of Loco + SKLS auto carriers + any cab car.

But then the cab car is the only coach in the train. Would that be desirable? It would be more tricky to allow a mixture of auto carriers and coaches plus a cab car. This is because all intermediate cars need to have the same length for push-pull operation in OpenTTD.

I'll put it on my list for the next version. However, at the moment I have little time for development and I cannot say when the next update will be ready.

Thanks for you reply.
Maybe I mixed up some car designations. The cars I meant are those vehicle transport cars which actually carry passengers making them (technically) coaches... The car's designation is Skls in your guide. They look just like those cars the BLS uses between Kandersteg and Goppenstein or Iselle. This Autoverlad is a push-pull service.

Take your time, anyway.

No mix-up. We are talking about the same cars. But my technical comment is independent of that.

To clarify: The question is whether we would need to allow more coaches in the train along with the driving trailer and the car carriers. Coaches that look like coaches, like EW I or EW IV.

Got it now :-)
In my eyes, the cab car would be sufficient - no other coaches needed. Here is a consist I had in mind (BLS Re4/4 in the lead, note the cab car at the end of the train):

I guess the SBB consists were similar.
