can't find old trees?

can't find old trees?
i can't find the older trees that had a more colorful and cartoonish sort of look since they've been replaced by those other newgfx trees. Any ideas where i can get them for subarctic and temperate?

Those would be part of the original TTD graphics. Can't download them directly, but if you have a copy of TTD, you can use the original graphics from the game. Won't be just trees, but everything else as well.

Re: can't find old trees?
I think there is a certain difference between 'can' and 'may' or 'should' here....
Re: can't find old trees?
They aren't original ttd graphics, they were the 8bpp trees ottd had before the new trees
Re: Can't Find Old Trees?
In that case, you would have to go back to version 0.33 of OpenGFX, before the trees were changed. However, that is a year and a half out of date and will probably not work completely in a new game. The sprites will still be available on the repository somewhere though I would imagine, and definitely in 0.33 if you decompiled it, and it shouldn't be too difficult to code yourself a small grf to use them, if you're willing to learn.ICRRnut33 wrote:They aren't original TTD graphics, they were the 8bpp trees OpenGFX had before the new trees
Re: can't find old trees?
OpenGFX 0.33 may not work in 1.2.x versions and latest trunk version of OpenTTD, so try to get older ones

Why would that be the case?Yoursnotmine wrote:OpenGFX 0.33 may not work in 1.2.x versions and latest trunk version of OpenTTD, so try to get older ones
yes, some GUI sprites might be missing, but "not working"...?

I'm not sure how the way OpenTTD react if the baseset is outdated by now (always upgrading it) , but likely i used the wrong words. Should be "missing sprites"...planetmaker wrote: yes, some GUI sprites might be missing, but "not working"...?

Re: can't find old trees?
These are the original OpenGFX trees I drew. They were drawn using a blanked-out copy of the original windows base graphics as a template for sprite sizes so the offsets will be the same... Note that the tropic cacti and toyland trees are missing.
This should be a grf which replaces the trees, foundations and rivers using these tree graphics: http://www.tt-forums.net/download/file.php?id=95985
