if the devs are not planning a new version, take a look at the source code, and change the "loading speed" value of said tram to a higher value, compile the GRF and go
(compilation is easy, once you got the source, and if the whole code is in 1 file )
if I can get hold of the NML file from the dev then I will have a go.
If its written in NFO then I have no clue!

also no real clue how to complile a GRF file as ive never really done it before

As I said previously, I have modified a version of this grf to have faster loading times (I attempted to balance it with UKRS2 and based on some figures previously posted in the topic). I can pm this to you if you so want :) .

Indeed, I'd like if you'd PM it to me as well, please please  :D You'd make Christmas for me, as I almost never used those marvelously drawn trams simply because of the loading speed destroying their timetables.

That would be great if you could send it to me!

compared to the earlier version the current version loads fine untill you get to the modern trams, just a bit of tweaking and it should be great

Have had a go at editing the load times,

not tested thoroughly yet (have zoomed though the sets using the date cheat and it seems to work fine)

All other work was done by the original authors, I have just changed a few bytes for action 0 property 0x07 and bumped the version number by one

any comments?

Currently playing a game with v0.4 and I have hit a slight snag.

The Y6 0-4-0 (Passenger) from early in the game is not working. Something is up. I tried building it and an red error message box appeared on the screen stating that the vehicle is not the same as shown in the purchase list and building it may cause crashes or errors.

I then built to test, and the vehicle only holds 1 passenger. The full capacity does not fill.

Since the vehicle was not working, i went into the vehicle list and renamed it by adding the word BROKEN to the front so i could see it was not working in the future. I then used the hide tool to hide the vehicle from the construction list.

20 years down the line I accidentally clicked on the show hidden button from the vehicle list. Openttd crashed. I rebooted the game and tried to open the saved game from 4 years earlier. The save was corrupted. After 4 attempts the save loaded, but crashed when I tried to un-pause. After a few more attempts the game seemed to be fine. So I continued and planned to sell all vehicles from the set and then remove the set from the grf list. But before I could completely sell all vehicles, the game crashed again.

Since BATS is the only new grf or patch i am playing with and the only odd thing that I had encountered was the 0-6-0 problem I assume that somehow it or my actions based on it were responsible for the crashes. Any insights? I am unable to provide crash logs as the game crashed instantly without leaving any. Meanwhile it looks like for the time being I will be starting from scratch with another new game and dropping the set.

I am using an OpenTTD build based on 27099.

Sorry Paul

I'm not working on anything OTTD right now. All I can say is it didn't die on me when I tested it but that was years ago

I also appear to be having that same problem from the latter except mine isn't crashing. But the Passenger Y6 will not refit ( )so its stuck on the default. If there is a fix please let me know. I love the GER tram engines but its a shame I cant use them.

Ladies and Gents

Its been 5 years since the last update but I've started playing OTTD again and added several new vehicles to the set, see first post

Still using GRF maker for this so the set has it limitations, the biggest being the buy list doesn't report cargo capacity correctly

If someone could remind me how to get update the set on Bananas I'd appreciate it

Cheers

Update for this set? Exciting!

Are the load-times for later trams now improved too?
