Trolleybus Set

Version 0.2




After a lot of time on the NewGraphicsSpecs site and a lot of decoded other grfs to understand the code (no, i didn't just copy the code from there ), I have finished my first vehicle set.

The Trolleybus Set replace the tram rail with Trolleybus overhead lines an has 11 trolleybuses. The buses and their Names are mostly based on some swiss trolleybuses, but aren't correspond to the original buses. the first bus is avaiable in 1920 and the last is instructed in 2019.

The Set works like a Tram set (because of the overhead lines), so you should use the trolleybus set with no other tram set. Otherwise, the trolleybuses drive on tram rails or the trams under the trolleybus overhead lines.
The set just use vehicle IDs which are defined here for trams. So it should be compitable with other road vehicle sets.

Unfortunately doesn't work the text string replacement in OpenTTD. But the set still works, the busses are just called "trams" instead of "trolleybus"

Nice set, there's been discussion on Trolleybuses here before but this is the first set to get it done properly nice job.

Funny it should be based off swiss trolleybuses, I visited Geneva earlier this year and thought the trolleybuses would be nice in OTTD, shame we can't have Geneva trams too, hopefully when new road types becomes available we can have a swiss tram set to go with this

Now this is another set that could make use of my feature request here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 91&start=0 I'm guessing it gets a bit tricky to accurately lay the turning end pieces sometimes...

Yes, here was a discussion one year ago, I have also wrote there, that I have startet a trolleybus set. But I continued with it just some weeks ago, because I had a lot of time
This Thread didn't I see, but it don't seems that that set is still developing.

Very nice set. Good to see this. Now I can re-enact Schaffhausen and it's trolley line.

Just a pitty it is not working together with trams in the same game.

BTW, have the new trolley for Schaffhausen arrived yet? I saw some pictures of them while still in the factory, but don't know if they're running already.

No, the new trolleybuses didn't arrived yet. AFAIK they come in summer 2011.

BTW: The Hess/NAW/ABB buses in the set are inspired by the current trolleybuses in Schaffhausen, and (at least the name) the Berna/SAAS/R&J/BBC buses are inspired by the first trolleybus generation in SH. And the next generation will be the swisstrolley 3.
So, all Schaffhausen trolleybuses are a bit represented in the set

Hallo Addi,

I started some first game using it at broad scale. It really is fantastic.

But, I found two small bugs so far:

1. The Berna SAAS Plus from 1954. The trailer can be refittet to Mail, but it can not be refitted back to passenger. That does not work.

2. The Trolleys are not respecting one-way street. I don't know if this is even something that can be done by this, or if it is a limitation of OTTD.

Would be great if you could check these.

Trolleys are a tram replacement, so you got the wires, trams don't respect the one-way signs by design. I wouldn't expect changes in that respect until roadtypes got introduced...

Hm, I don't have the problem with the Berna/SAAS/R&J/BBC 'Plus' bus. Maybe does an other Roadvehicle Set disturb the Trolleybus Set?

What about goods trolley?

They are really very exotic

I have a problem with Berna/SAAS/R&J/BBC 'Plus'. I can buy other types of trolley, but not this one.
This issue arose after openttd upgrade from 1.1.5 to 1.2.0. In 1.1.5 I was able to buy all the types of trolley. But now only a red message appears "Can't buy road vehicle ..."

How can I find where is the problem?

Just a guess, but are you attempting to build a trolleybus/tram in a road vehicle depot instead of a trolleybus/tram depot?

So no. It's right kind of depot

Running 1.2.0, downloaded Trolleybus 0.2. I could not reproduce the error while trying to buy the vehicle between 1955 and 2001.

Good day ! And it is planned the next version of Addis Trolleybus Set? What you want in it include? The current version I liked it . Used in the game.

Sorry, I have not enough time at the moment for a new version.

If new version will come, I would probably add some cargo tolleybuses, apart from other improvements.
