Updated VAST Objects to 0.3.0. Not compatible with earlier versions due to rewrite. You'll need OpenTTD r25230 or later.

Many changes:
  • General
    • Converted codebase to NML
  • Ground
    • 32bpp 2X/4X zoom sprites (partially complete. This will take a while)
    • Merged similar objects into one with multiple views (incomplete. Some placeholder objects were put in. They'll be removed later.)
  • Paths
    • Merged rotations of objects into ones with multiple views
    • Snow awareness (half complete)
  • Gardens
    • Animation-based seasonal changes (this means tiles update without leaving artifacts)
    • Snow awareness (mostly incomplete. No snow graphics yet)
    • Fixed flashing sprites
  • Ornaments
    • Renamed from Statues and Fountains (perhaps this was a bad idea)
  • Parks and Plazas
    • Animation-based seasonal changes
Info in the first post.

Thew new 32bpp tiles looks great! The simplified options work well, also. I look forward to you finishing this up soon!

Hi, I just downloaded the VAST Objects 0.3.0 set but I experience a crash on a trunk version r25800 (no patches applied, just downloaded it from the OpenTTD website). What is the problem? And how can I solve it? :)

Please report the crash with all crash files (crash.log, crash.sav, crash.png, crash.dmp) to our bug tracker.

I juggled a bit with the newgrf files and to me it seems te problem is not related to VAST Objects but also to other grf-sets. Perhaps I try to load too many GRF-sprites. When loading:

SNO Supercheese + Lighthouse Set + MariCo + ISR/DWE + Dutch Road Furniture + VAST = Crash
Lighthouse Set + MariCo + ISR/DWE + Dutch Road Furniture + VAST = Crash
Lighthouse Set + MariCo + Dutch Road Furniture + VAST = Works fine
MariCo + ISR/DWE + VAST = Works fine

So when I reduce the number of GRF-sets, everything works fine. Also, it is not one particular GRF-set that causes the problem.

i m not sure this have been reported before...or if it s just VAST that is incompatible with tropic climate...but there is a snow bug in desert with footpath tiles ;)

if tile is desert there is snow,if tile is half desert/grass or grass, path tile don t show snow.

Missing climate check. Fixed more than a year ago and never released

I've been very busy but at some point I worked on some nicer sprites. I will endeavour to release something this year even if it's just that fix.

Love the NewGRF, would like to see the park at the top left (my image) to be mirrored in all 4 directions, though.

Do you think that it might be possible to place these beautiful tiles on top of station tiles (with tracks)... That would make it possible to build beautiful metro stations.
FreakNL had it already done, but his tiles are "just" meadows. (see here: viewtopic.php?p=880269#p880269)

Hello Zero-Eight,

Can I use some of your fountains in a project I doing.

Been asked to make objects for a Nuclear Power Station and like to include some fountains with it for the water cooling.

Sample of what I been doing:

Once I get the Nuclear Power Station parts finished will see if can change the graphics for a Coal Power Plant.

Cheers pal.
