Rules for Graphics Releases forum - READ THIS FIRST

Hi all,

Welcome to the new Graphics Releases forum. This forum is intended to be a convenient location to find NewGRF sets, and to discuss any end-user problems. Development talk should go in the Development forum.

Please prefix your topic titles with one of the following tags to indicate the version the GRF works with:
  • [TTDP] if only TTDPatch is supported
  • [OTTD] if only OpenTTD is supported
  • [UNIV] if both TTDPatch and OpenTTD are supported
In the unlikely event anybody is designing graphics these days for plain TTD or TTO, please use [TTD] or [TTO] as the tags.

If you have any queries, please post in this thread.

One tiny little suggestion: Why not drop the [UNIV] and just use no tag at all if the newgrf the thread is about supports both TTDPatch and OpenTTD? Since this is the case for a lot (most?) of the sets, that would save us a lot of clutter, if you ask me...

That'd work in the Graphics Releases forum I guess. The problem with doing that in the Development forum is that there are thousands of untagged topics already - how would you distinguish those that aren't tagged, and those that are universal?

Most existing releases are universal

Sorry if this is a bit of a dig post... well, it is a sticky after all.

If I wanted to make a project to showcase and gradually release multiple projects I'm working on simultaneously, would I post it in here, or in the Graphics Development forum? If the latter, would I have a separate thread in this forum for releases, or would it be better to make a new thread for each individual release?

It's common to make a thread per NewGRF and announce individual releases therein. You can and may update your first post (and thus the thread title) to reflect the version of the current release.

In addition to planetmaker's post: generally you would start with a topic in the development section, and once you have a release (on bananas) announce that with a new topic in the release section.

For small but related projects, you can consider combining them in one development topic, but generally it's one topic per newgrf.
