Ok so myself and Ameecher have decided we may as well release these now. By using OTTD's pooling patch, you can run them alongside the DBSetXL by MB to create realistic DD trains.

In the GRF there are 3 items, as such, a powered DVT for simulation of reversed trains, a normal DVT for the end of a train, and the DD coaches themselves. Intro date is at 1992.

Enjoy, questions or comments welcome.

What it looks like for all those heathens that don't read mine or James' screenshot threads:

If at any point I can be bothered I might do the old livery for these but I suspect that it'll be unlikely!

hooray, i always felt these were missing from the DBSetXL. I remember some screenshots showing double decker coaches in v0.9, but MB does not seem very close to release that one yet. :(

This file has now been added to BaNaNaS. Go nuts, or bananas. Whichever you prefer.

are the decks time limited ingame? seems that they disapear from the list in the early 20xx's. Anyway great work! They look very nice!

Better get James to check that, because I don't play with vehicle expiry I never noticed a problem. Ta for the insight though and thanks :)

Thanks for the feedback :)

Have just double-checked to make sure, none of the 3 IDs have a model life set (2 of the IDs are wagons anyway), the powered DVT has a vehcile life of 32 years, meaning it will need to be replaced then, but that shouldn't cause it to expire.

Again, same as Ameecher, I play with vehicles nexer expire, its quite a handy patch :)

Hmm, strange! I'll investigate that later in my game, when/why they disappeared from the list in the train-depot, thanks for your replies :)

Dear guys,
I've tried to install the dbddw.grf but my ttd gives an error: invalid sprite #21 (code 10/13)
Anyone any idea how to solve this?
Thanx

Does not matter actually as ttdp, ottd (with "-d grf=1"), nforenum and grf2html agree that it's the grf's fault :p
dbg: [grf] [other/dbddw.GRF:21] VehicleMapSpriteGroup: Spriteset 0x0000 out of range (maximum 0x02) or empty, skipping.
dbg: [grf] [other/dbddw.GRF:45] VehicleMapSpriteGroup: Spriteset 0x0000 out of range (maximum 0x02) or empty, skipping.
dbg: [grf] [other/dbddw.GRF:69] VehicleMapSpriteGroup: Spriteset 0x0000 out of range (maximum 0x02) or empty, skipping.
In all your action3 you are using 0x0000 as default cargo ID. To fix it remove the special case for "passengers" and use the default case instead.

Hello there,

I might have found a bug. I loaded it into OpenTTD 0.7.5. with DBXL set and I get 3 vehicles - two wagons and one seems to be a locomotive. Now, the problem is that this "locomotive" has only 1HP and it obviously cannot haul anything. Is it a bug or...

Otherwise, great enhancement for the DBXL set.

Greetings...

Its not a bug.

Then what is that for?

It's a driving cab car to enable push-pull operation on trains. As it's a locomotive, it swaps graphics with the actual locomotive, giving the illusion of a train that is being driven one way by a loco and the other by the cab control car. The NARS and the Canset use similar techniques.

It's always nice when all four implementations agree on something.

Just to clarify this is nothing to do with Michael Blunck, it is meant merely to complement his work. Do not trouble him if the work of myself or James is broken.
