To get "2" you have to either own the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe CD and follow the directions in OpenTTD's "readme.txt" file, or you have to engage in software piracy and steal them from somewhere

ottd readme

If you want to play with the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe data files you
have to copy the data files from the CD-ROM into the baseset/ directory. It
does not matter whether you copy them from the DOS or Windows version of
Transport Tycoon Deluxe. The Windows install can optionally copy these files.
You need to copy the following files:
- sample.cat
- trg1r.grf or TRG1.GRF
- trgcr.grf or TRGC.GRF
- trghr.grf or TRGH.GRF
- trgir.grf or TRGI.GRF
- trgtr.grf or TRGT.GRF

...copied and nothing happened , its still "picture 1"

Personally, I think you're better off. First, you're not supporting piracy (even if it is for a 22 year old game that's no longer published). Second, they look horrible compared to what any artist is doing today.

Did you read the OpenTTD manual? The FAQ has a section on this very subject.

You also need to go into the options and change baseset to original graphics, if that's the issue :?

Found this while sorting through some old files, but for the life of me I don't remember where it came from. Does anyone recognise this? (It's just a funky object.)

Funny how little things come back to haunt us.
I created this in 2013 but for the life of me, I forget where I released it, probably in a discussion either here or in Simuscape.
It was an experiment to feature every (and I do mean every) TTDX reserved action colour.

So are there any seperate GRFs?
With OpenGFX you could always just take the bits you want and code them into your own grf. But if you just want something you can download, it's worth checking out the earlier posts in the OpenGFX Development Topic. In the early days a lot of that stuff was posted as separate grfs which are still usable now.
buoys...
Shameless plug for my new grf: New Buoys. I may do something else with buoys in the near future...

If you want OpenGFX buoys, maybe try OpenGFX+ Landscape? For some reason the buoy is hardcoded into that grf, you will get it even if you turn off all the other OpenGFX stuff.

Not much else though. lepkka included a buoy in his old New Water grf, also coded as a separate grf here. And there's an ancient exe by Rob which you can download here. Neither of those will work in current version of OTTD though.
locks...
I think it was already mentioned above, but you can download an early version of the docks and locks here (slightly different to latest OpenGFX version, and without snow for arctic climate).

I don't know of any others. Zephyris drew his own version for OpenGFX but I don't think a grf was ever released: there's a screenshot here though. Michael Blunk has posted some teasers over the years for his own canals and locks, but AFAIK there hasn't been a release yet.
tram / bus stops.
You can download OpenGFX stations here, it has bus and truck stops and stations (tram stops don't have separate graphics) but also rail stations which you might not want. Total Town Replacement Set (download it in-game) has it's own bus and truck stations and much more besides. Maybe some other road sets, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Some more old exe files by Rob: Roofed Lorry Bay and Roofed Bus Bay. I don't know if they were ever coverted into grf format. Maybe Kamnet knows, he re-released some of Rob's old graphics a few years back.

I'm wanting to say I did convert them, but I don't remember if I uploaded them. I'm not at a PC where I can check and won't be for a few months. :(
